If he doesn't run at the Combine it's the biggest physical red flag ever. The guy ran a confirmed 4.92 in high school. I just don't think his running ability will translate to the NFL at all. For reference, Peyton Manning ran faster than that.

His 247 profile has verified he ran a 4.60 for what it’s worth. I’m not all in on him, but I kept hearing this about a slow 40 so I did some googling...

My dream is Sewell, but Lance is right next to him. I mean Oregon just made drugs legal.....be a shame if Sewell got popped and fell to the panthers....

I echo the post that listed the pro guys that liked Lance, he is right there in with ALL the cream in this draft.

1. Trading up for everette Brown

2. Trading up for Armanti

3. Trading up for Little

That brown one hurt the worst, trying to replace peppers and got a 250 lb OLB that had no clue. 5 years and hardy did his thing...then did another thing.  I bag on Smarty Marty plenty, he did also trade up for Chinn this year too.

Got a link for that? The only confirmed 40 I'm seeing for him is from ESPN and it's 4.92. All the 4.6 stuff has been speculation coming out of NDSU. Seems like you can almost always add two full tenths to those reported college 40 times.

there's no way he runs a 4.9 or the cb's they're playing against run 5.3's.

I don’t know how legit it is, but it was the first one that came up when I googled “Trey Lance 40 time”

It’s the first paragraph on his background btw.

If the scouts check Lance off then go for it but don’t draft a qb in the 1st just because. People love to point to Mahomes sitting but Alex Smith (the Twitter proclaimed check down king) was in KC for 5 years before Mahomes was drafted. This isn’t a sprint...I know we are sick of losing but build the team and get the qb when the time is right. If the right qb falls next draft so be it but draft the wrong one sets us back farther than you realize.

Yeah, that's the only think I can find too. His 247 Sports profile definitely says nothing about a 4.6 40. The only confirmed number I'm finding is 4.92 and he ran that at 192 pounds. He's 227 now.

If he was running 4.92 at 192 there's now way he's running 4.6 at 227.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
