If trey lance is there

I watched all the videos on him from last year. Not really impressed. Throws a nice ball but everything else about being a QB was unimpressive.  Stat cultists will point to the zero ints last year but that loses a lot of weight given the competition.  Maybe he can be a good pro, I have no idea. Nothing I saw pointed one way or the other. Too risky for the first round imo. I’d rather trade up for Fields.  If that’s impossible and our options are Lance or some random wild surprise QB, I suppose I could learn to get behind a Lance pick.

I don't know what we should do and can't really say without knowing who else will be available at our pick. But it does beg the question: what would Teddy's stats be with an overpowering team against FCS competition? 5000 yards, 50 tds with no interceptions?

He would have lesser teammates also so probably about the same as Trey.

This is the part of evaluation that people don't understand and what I was trying to explain earlier.

There are aspects of a QBs game that you can evaluate regardless of who is on the field.  A QBs ability to throw a 20 yard out with timing and accuracy is the same whether my grandmother or Revis is the CB.  With Revis it might an incompletion because he breaks up the pass but that is why scouts don't look at stats as much as fans do when it comes to evaluation, either its a good pass or isn't

What about pressure?  He is playing against a lesser D-line talent wise but his O-line is probably has less talent than Trevor's or Field's.  Just like I'm worried about Lance's level of competition you can also worry about Trevor's team being so much better.

He's the only QB prospect I'm high on so far outside of Lawrence-FIelds, so I'd take it in a heartbeat if no Parsons.  His film looks very good, the running ability obviously won't quite translate to the NFL due to the competition but he throws good balls.  That one bad game will drop his stock, great for us. Perfect raw prospect to let sit behind Teddy for a year or two. Good work ethic too.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
