Why is everyone so hard on Teddy?

If we want to be objective Teddy has been really good for us up until crunch time. Scoring quickly or late drives have been hard for him to do because he still reverts to checking it down.

It's amazing that we are still in these games considering we are fortunate if a team punts twice a game on us. To be honest i don't even remember the last time a team punted twice. Now, I'm not blaming the defense because we all knew they wouldn't be good but it does put a ton of pressure on the offense and Teddy to be perfect which he hasn't.

Why? Because they are either:

1. Cam Stans

2. Racist

3. Think we have a shot at a top tier college QB

TB went 36/49, 310 yds with 2 TDs and ZERO Ints. He ran it for 19 yds with a TD. He 4th down run saved the game at the time. We lost because our D can't stop anyone. Fact. Also, TB will do a lot of what is asked of him by a rookie OC. While he can audible, etc. he does the play given to him.

I'm a Teddy critic/realist and fit in none of those 3 categories (don't really follow college football at all). I'm just tired of this franchise settling for mediocrity and would prefer to pursue top-tier performance at every position, especially QB, be it through the draft or otherwise. While a decent QB Teddy has shown nothing to indicate that he fits that bill.

Lacks the killer instinct/“it” factor to take us to the next level. High floor but low ceiling...just a nice guy who is hard to hate but if you are honest with yourself you know you can do better.

Need a franchise QB to compete in today’s nfl....Teddy is an above average journeyman.

One thing overlooked by everyone as well... Isn't KC's defense a top 5 defense in the NFL?

I think it’s just a heat of the moment type thing. When you step back a couple hours from the game you can clearly see Teddy is doing very well with a line that is well below average in pass blocking.

I wish he’d take some more chances down the field but that’s not his MO.

He's really not doing 'very well' though, definitely not when it counts the most against competent competition. We've seen it now for 4 weeks in a row and before then as well.

Mahomes helps that stay...a lot.

It's the same as when the Colts had Peyton. He'd put teams behind by a couple touchdowns or more early and the defense could just go wild.

Bridgwater is never taking this team or some other team to the Super Bowl. The guy isn’t good enough to win the championship. Teddy is that guy that wins you enough games to drop your position in the draft. Panthers fans can blame the OL, the defense, the play calling on both sides of the ball or whatever else. Teddy just isn’t good enough to take us to the promise land. This offense is loaded with playmakers; CMC, Robby, Moore, Samuel and Davis. He threw for 300 yards today but that came from 49 attempts.

Rhule and Brady need to get with this guy ASAP!  How could they be so wrong!?

Chill. Teddy is exactly what Rhule and Brady want to play the style of football they want to play.

You will come around by mid-season next year.

How do you know it’s exactly what both Rhule and Brady wanted and not just he has qualities of what they want but had to settle based on available options? Brady had Burrow. I doubt Bridgewater is exactly what he wants.

Ultimately, there are Huddlers that believe you build a successful, Super Bowl winning franchise by getting whatever they believe is a franchise QB by any means necessary asap while there are other Huddlers that believe you build a successful, Super Bowl winning franchise by building a complete roster.

Both models have worked, just comes down to preference.
