Will Bridgewater complete a single game winning drive in the 4th quarter this season?

If anyone didn't notice Matt Rhule fought like hell all game to keep the Panthers defense on the bench I don't know what to tell you. Fake punts, onside kicks, going for it on 4th.

He knew the Panthers Defense on the field is trouble and the plan was to limit their snaps. Almost worked.

Honestly I think the staff is doing a helluva job. We're competing every week and given this roster that's a surprise. Everyone expected our defense to be at or near the bottom of the league and outside of WR and RB, we're honestly probably below league average at every other position group.

Agreed. The weird thing about that is, WR and RB we debatably have the best WR and RB room in the NFL. LOL. This roster makes no sense.

Well, we have a top 10 overall pick at RB and a 1st round pick, 2nd round pick, and decently high level FA at WR. Given the resources invested, you're hoping to be good at those spots and we are.

I would argue, if we had a QB like Aaron Rodgers yesterday, or a guy that could not poo his pants on a final drive, Carolina wins that game. I couldn't imagine this offense with a Russel Wilson, or a top 10 QB.

Rodgers would just be bitching all game about not having enough time behind this line

Anyone who can see the numbers knows the problem. This defense can't hold anybody and it doesn't matter what Teddy and the offense are doing.

We are completing over 70% of our passes for almost 8 yards an attempt  but we allow almost 70% of passes against us for 7 yards a pass. Bridgewater's passer rating is 98 but our opponents QB rating is right at 95 as well.

We are averaging a respectable 4.38 yards per attempt for 110 yards rushing the ball but are giving up 4.6 and 114.  We are coming back in the 4th quarter but getting outscored.   We are averaging 6.4 points in the 4th quarter (range is between 5 and 9 points ) but giving up 6.8 points.

The pattern is of a team with a decent offense and decent defense but one that struggles to score or stop others when it counts.

The defense has forced 2 punts in the past 3 games.

That ain't average. That is B A D bad. Thank god for eating up the clock on offense.

Dink and dunk on the last drive doesn’t cut it. You have to go down the field and put defense under pressure

Teddy cant do that. though. Not having a guy that can sling it down the field is such a disadvantage in the nfl. Its why I hated the signing.

I'm not saying our D is good. We're playing bend but don't break D because our secondary sucks. Clearly our gameplan yesterday was to keep their offense of the field but even after dominating time of possession yesterday we're still only 12th in time of possession.

Every stat, including YPG, Passing Yards per game, Rushing Yards per game, PPG all say the defense is above the bottom 10, middle of the pack, even. If you think this defense is bad, take a good hard look at the Seahawks, Jaguars, and Texans. Those defenses are deplorable.

Edit: After yesterday, their Rushing Yards Per game is about to go drastically down too. As they only allowed 30 rushing yards.

I mean, he did complete a 23 yarder to Samuel the last drive to give them a chance. If the Panthers had just one timeout that game they would have won because the middle of the field would have stayed open as an option.

They didn't though, and Teddy tried to dink and dunk his way down the field with zero timeouts. It was kind of funny to watch.
