Will Bridgewater complete a single game winning drive in the 4th quarter this season?

I think time management has been terrible, if Teddy had a little more time we could have at least got a field goal closer.    Our drive before the final drive we acted like we had all the time in the world.    Most plays we barely get it off before play clock.    This was a problem for a lot of Cam years too and it also helps the defense just launch on you.

A better question is why we keep ending up in final drive situations to come from behind and win the game in the first place.

Because our defensive personnel is ass. Really? You really asking that question? You got a bunch of journeymen, Rookies, and people no one else wanted on defense. And you expect us to just be good or something? Seriously?

What makes Teddy reliable is also what hurts him in these 4th quarter situations. He reads the field and makes the safe play. Throw it deep into slightly tight coverage or do a quick checkdown for a guaranteed 5 yards down the field? Teddy is going checkdown 9 times out of 10. Scramble in the backfield for a few seconds and risk a sack but wait for a play to possibly develop, or pull down the ball and take the free 4 yards on a qb keeper? Teddy is getting you that 4 yards. It works pretty well for the first 55 minutes because you have the luxury of taking your time, getting down the field slowly on a bunch of 5-8 yard chunk plays while minimizing risky plays that might lead to turnovers. It's part of the formula why we stay competitive every week, on top of excellent coaching by Rhule.

But with 2 minutes left, no timeouts and having to quickly march down the field for a touchdown, teams are going to cover the deep ball while leaving those middle of the field checkdowns open. You're asking Teddy to turn into something he's not built for. Now could he build that part of his game? Possibly. But it's his biggest weakness for sure.

When he's tried to get more aggressive in crunch time situation he's thrown bad INTs.

If Phil Snow had average personnel on defense and not poo, maybe he could.

Seriously depending on 4 Rookies on defense, and you guys expect the defense to be good or some poo. Do you guys football?

It blows my mind how many people are mad about the defense when the talk all season was all about our expectations of having the worst defense in the NFL this year. We're middle of the pack in both yardage and points allowed. That's a LOT better than expected. The Chiefs average 32ppg. They just had an average day against our average defense.

Hur dur offensive line, hur dur. It's not him, the offensive line is the problem.

Disclaimer: I admit the offensive line isn't good, however, Teddy Bridgewater has been like this for going on 8 damn years.

Exactly right. This fan base is so weird, man. They don't want to blame the QB, because of the Offensive Line (even though he has a plethora of weapons, most QB's don't have). But want to blame the defense, even though the defense personnel wise is debatably the worst in the NFL.

They also want to blame Phil Snow. I come on here for laughs most of the time, but a lot of my reactions are like the gif below:

It was a rhetorical question. I’ve been putting most of our woes on the defense for several weeks now while most on here throw Teddy under the bus for one drive.

Well, he deserves it to be fair. He's got a poo ton of weapons, Snow is working with undrafted Rookies FFS. And, I keep hearing the excuse of the Offensive Line for Teddy. When in reality, while the offensive line isn't the best in the NFL. They're average, because there's lot of bad offensive line play in the NFL right now. Bad defensive play too.

Why are you putting the woes on the defense? We're 23rd in the league in points scored and we knew coming into this season that offense should be our strength and we'd likely only go as far as they could carry us. I tried to point out that wouldn't be far with Teddy at QB. You need one of the best rosters in the NFL to consistently win with Teddy and that's not what we have.

This right here is the critical thing we all need to remember.

Our defense is performing about like it should given the personnel and situation.  Honestly, I expected much worse.

However, I also expected a bit better from our offense.  I expected them to be at least "above average".  I'm not saying incredible, but given all we heard about Joe Brady, his relationship with TB5, CMC, blah blah blah . . . I expected above average.  What we have is an offense scoring below average, and failing on five occasions to win a game when presented the opportunity to do so.

All in all, we've had a good season considering expectations, I'd just like to see some of that killer instinct kick in on the offensive side of the ball.

This has a lot more to do with ball control offense than having a stellar defense

If anyone didn't notice Matt Rhule fought like hell all game to keep the Panthers defense on the bench I don't know what to tell you. Fake punts, onside kicks, going for it on 4th.

He knew the Panthers Defense on the field is trouble and the plan was to limit their snaps. Almost worked.
