How would you address the OL in the offseason?

The reduced salary cap and Moton's extension is going to make things increasingly difficult. The more I think about it, the more I see Weatherly and Paradis being cap casualties as well.

I'm a firm believer in trying to have some type of financial balance on the OL if at all possible. Signing Moton to an extension and Greg Little figuring out how to play would be incredible, as that would allow the team to do some bargain shopping to plug in two guards and then go draft a center (along with another guard to compete for a starting spot).

I can also see the team going Little/Horton/Draft/Daley/Moton and that scares the sin out of me. I'm hard pressed to see the team being able to afford Moton and another OT. Might have to draft one.

Great super in depth post!! Personally I would resign Taylor Moton, give Paradis one more year before cutting him and draft Creed Humphrey round one and play him at LG year one then after cutting Paradis the next year move him back to Center, then move Daley to RG while also resigning John Miller to a one year team friendly deal. Then my unpopular opinion would be I would let Okung walk and give Little another chance to win the LT spot while drafting a tackle prospect around the 3rd to 5th round range and let them compete for the starting LT spot. I know my idea is not flawless but I think it’s unreasonable to invest an absurd amount of money to OG and tackles in free agency they always end up being overpaid and a ridiculous cap hit(Matt Khalil, Matt Paradis.)

Paradis has to go.  We gave him a 2nd chance this year after the 2019 season.  Time to cut ties and money.

Little has been benched twice now, the last time after just a single series.

Unless he can move inside, I'm not absolutely convinced the team even keeps him.

Yeah, the fact that they’ve been so quick to bench him is very telling.

If they thought much of him they’d want him to get reps given it’s only his 2nd year but the fact they’re quick to sit him tells me they’re not very high on him at all.

Rhule tried to talk him up early in the year which seemed like a last hope attempt. That clearly hasn’t worked and when listening to Rhule talk you get the impression he’s pretty much seen enough

I honestly just don't think Little has it upstairs.

It may not be as cerebral a position as say, quarterback, but OL does require some intelligence and fast thinking. I've seen way too many instances where Little looked like he had no idea what he was supposed to do.

Possible cap casualty targets:
Andrew Norwell, G, JAX (Cap Hit: $15M, Cap Savings: $12M)
Brandon Linder, C, JAX (Cap Hit: $9M, Cap Savings: $9M)
Anthony Castonzo, LT, IND (Cap Hit: $16M, Cap Savings: $16M)
Kevin Zeitler, G, NYG (Cap Hit: $14.5M, Cap Savings: $12M)
Trai Turner, G, LAC (Cap Hit: $11.5M, Cap Savings: $11.5M)
Maurkice Pouncey, C, PIT (Cap Hit: $14.475M, Cap Savings: $8M)
George Fant, LT, NYJ (Cap Hit: $9M, Cap Savings: $8.4M)
Terron Armstead, LT, NO (Cap Hit: $16.2875, Cap Savings: $11.75)

Will add to the OP shortly. I would lmao if Norwell and Turner returned and we stuck a rookie center between them.

One time I ran into a guy at a party that scouts offensive lineman for a different NFL team.  He said that once they got done with the interview with Little, they took him off their draft board completely.

Yikes.

Meanwhile, Marty was ready to take him with the 16th overall pick if Brian Burns hadn't dropped.

To be honest our guards stink and we can find better. Moton has to be signed. Paradise will probably be given another year because he's not terrible but has terrible people beside him. We need to draft OL early. Which ever it is be it C, G, or T we need help.

Person took some questions about the line in his Q&A.

Said that it is "a priority" to re-sign Taylor Moton and mentioned "the questions at left tackle" in that context. Not sure if that means Moton will get a shot at that spot, but it's possible. Doesn't really sound like the team is interested in bringing back Russell Okung.

Also mentioned that the team has "little faith" in Greg Little. Definitely doesn't sound like he's going to get a shot at another position. At this point, I question if he'll even be kept around next year.

Said that they do seem to like Dennis Daley. Not sure if they like him at left tackle though.
