How would you address the OL in the offseason?

The issue is we have no scout, no FO personnel who is able to evaluate olineman. FA or draft. It has been proven over and over again. This FO desperately needs someone who can do that. Thus far too many resources have been wasted at failed attempts to fix a consistent yet essential fundamental aspect of all successful teams for the past decade.

That is the big problem this franchise is facing.

Matt Rhule has a few years experience coaching offensive line in his background, including his one year at the pro level.

Throw in the fact that he's previously said building a strong offensive line is key and that it didn't take him all that long to figure out Greg Little wasn't cutting it, and I'm encouraged.

Hire a new GM, Hurney becomes assistant to the assistant GM

Re-sign Moton, draft a top center prospect, target Guards & Tackles as well.

Re-sign one of the UDFA Panthers to use them as a measuring stick, I.E. Larsen, Schofield or Miller.

ID minimum 1 LT and 1 OG in FA.

Also important--pick up a TE with legitimate blocking skills in FA.

Line:

FA-FA-Draft-Daley-Moton

Schofield, 2 draft picks and other pickups.

Was Schofield that bad, I can't remember it was so long ago since he played. No way he could be any worse than Reed. As someone stated our interior is abysmal. I don't follow lineman enough to make any comments about FA or the draft, but from our guys the ones that are awful and should be removed are: Little, Reed, and Paradis. From what I have seen in a limited scope, Daley may have been the best lineman we have drafted outside of Moton in a while. He has that versatility that we haven't had in a long time. Hope that we pay Moton (should've already did it, but glad Hurney didn't hand out that contract), and can Hurney as his overall ability to grade and draft lineman is awful as is his contract structuring. We fix this line and this offense goes from decent to next level unstoppable.

1. Look at practice squads Across the league

. Find young bodies there at low cost who can perform ..who want to perform

2. Panthers  have for the most part failed over 26 years at bringing in  high dollar free agents.   Let’s not repeat history    Go for lower priced young free agents

3. then the draft.  If the panthers were just a piece away from a super bowl that would be one thing but they aren’t    The panthers have to  have a mlb and a cb.  If they aren’t going for a franchise qb, then get the best linebacker and best CB in the draft. Rest of the draft, oline

Honestly the answer is complicated and it may take years to solve.

My short solutions -

Tag Moton and work out a long term deal with a small first year cap number.

Find a offseason OL guru for both Little and Daley to attend.

This hurts, have a few meeting about Paradis future. Yes hes not playing good, but hes not playing 2019 dogshit either. Center is hard to replace and there may be a plan to keep him around. Still his contract can not remain the same. Cut or extand at a fair rate.

Tell the scout to focus on OL/DL, remain a BPA picker tho.

There will be loads of cuts due to the 175 cap floor, hope somew are good OLmen that want to ride with rhule.

Offer a few min contracts to current OLmen(reed, larsen, etc)

resign John Miller to a fair deal

Work out term with Trent Scott for 6th man money/role.

Pray to all the football gods!
