QB Talk: Zach Wilson & Kyle Trask

Wilson is the only first round QB I like outside of the top 3, and I like him more than Lance and Fields (though Fields has a higher "ceiling") and can do everything we ask Teddy to do but better.

Great on the fly. Good arm. Team player.

Would love him in Black n Blue.

Does he also have instincts? Watches film all night? Has his head in the playbook 24/7? A real sponge for football knowledge?

Mac Jones is like a statue in the pocket. That's old school football, and Brady needs someone that can maneuver around the pocket. Mac Jones is not it. Not even going to get into the amount of weapons that man has around him. The best WR core in CFB, and the best RB in CFB.

Trask is currently outpacing Burrow from last year in TDs. Trasks heisman hype will live or die against UGA.

Does anyone else find it intriguing that now that the SEC is basically all offense, and very meh-poo defense. Now you have to have offense to win championships according to ESPN? But, when the Big 12 was like this, that narrative was bull poo and the Big 12 doesn't play defense?

I think a lack of real offseason for most of these kids has caused this. College has limits on how much you can gather and how long you can practice and how many times you can practice and with the covid protocols it’s killed defenses. UGA looks like the only team in the country with a great defense. Every other school the offense is far outpacing defense.

And UGA's "very great" defense got murdered by a better offense. I would argue OU would probably beat them now too, since their offense is clicking and their defense isn't atrocious anymore. COVID year should be the year the Playoff expanded. Just to see how it would look.

when i watch trask i think i'm watching brandon weeden.   plays just like weeden.  seems like a decent nfl backup

I don't like Jones, still sorta on the Trask train.  Just enjoying keeping up with all of them, not on any train in particular.  Still think Fields is my guy and I'd trade up for him but Wilson is the realistic one I like over Lance & Trask.
