Greg Hardy fighting tonight in UFC

Move this if you like, but it's not like anything better is going on.

Tonight, Greg Hardy, "The Prince of War" (seriously), will fight Maurice Greene, "The Crochet Boss" (also seriously). Heavyweight bout, third on the main card, Hardy the heavy favorite.

It's unclear what the UFC wants to do with Hardy at this point - they've hardly given him a marquee matchup here - but losing this one would be a major career stall for Greg.

First round: Greg flies instantly into an ultra-powerful flurry, nearly knocks Greene out standing up...Greene recovers, tries to clinch to survive, Hardy takes him to the ground and stays in his guard, delivering some nasty ground & pound. Ref (Dean) constantly watching Hardy for keeping his fingers in Greene's eyes. With two minutes left, Hardy more or less lets him up and they finish the round on their feet - cagy, but with Hardy getting the better of it. Could be a 10-8 round for Greg.

Second round: Hardy with the quick knockdown, keeps the blows coming at a prone Greene. Greene struggles desperately but Dean stops the fight, to Greene's protest.

Not a close one. Greene was barely in the fight and Hardy's striking was the best it's ever looked.

Hardy defeated by TKO in round two. Greg had a 10-9 first round, winning the striking battle and rattling Tybura. Tybura came out considerably more collected in the second, landing his shots and barely taking any. With less than two minutes left, Tybura sensed that Hardy was starting to gas out and went for the takedown. Once Greg was on his back, he had no plan and was barely defending himself. He was hoping to wait out the clock, but Tybura's ground and pound broke him down and the fight got stopped.

    • Cam is the GOAT dual threat, but we've never been able to have back to back seasons with winning records despite the late season surge winning streaks, my favorite being the year we won the south in the 2nd half of the season. But winning 2 games late in the year against bad teams doesn't establish a "winning culture"  If they beat the Falcons bucs once, competitive against the chiefs and eagles i will have no problem with wins then because it's against legitimate competition but beating the giants and saints just to feel good, hard pass.
