O-line confusion

I’m not good at judging o-line play (maybe that’s why I’ve been holding out hope for Little...). But I found this really insightful from G Schwartz. This is just one example, but there seem to be a lot of confusion. A little bit concerned with the coaching to be honest, although there is only so much you can do with Reed at LG.

Mike Davis is proving to be a major liability in pass protection. He got cockroached last week on the 3rd down sack before the long FG then this week he just doesn’t block his assignment on a crucial 3rd down.

If Davis makes that block then Teddy only has to account for the guy off the edge and might be able to get to his hot read. Having a guy come up the middle too makes that much more difficult.

CMC coming back should solve many of those problems and it’s one of the reasons he plays 99% of the snaps.

Davis has whiffed or been physically pushed into Teddy on countless plays.
