Does this franchise enjoy shitty offensive line play?

The Panthers have come close twice, in almost 30 years, to figuring out the key to success is building an O-line and keeping them together for more than 3 games. The best teams and the best QBs in the league have an established O-line who've spent seasons together, maybe losing a guy or 2 along the way, but you can't keep rebuilding the O-line year after year and expecting them to play like they live together.

Those mid to late 2000s Panthers offensive lines were good.

Then it was like Cam got here, they were good for his rookie year (from what I remember), then just slowly got worse and worse every year culminating in what was 2014.

If we dont re sign Moton, the Panthers as a franchise dont deserve fans.

Been banging the table for us to sign both Moton and James Bradberry for some time now.

Nah, let's get Bruce Irvin, Dontari Poe and Shaq paid.....

Team is dumb as hell.

Seriously, this is ridiculous.  It doesn’t seem to matter who is in charge, how the hell does our offensive line suck every single fuging year.  You can go back to 1997 when Kerry Collins broke his jaw, dumpster diving Dave who got Cam killed with 5 garbage cans, and the disaster that is this year.  We’ve had a few nice pieces here and there (Kalil, Gross, Turner before he sucked, Norwell) but yet we never put it together. We lost the super bowl because of a trash free agent pickup instead of having an actual right tackle.

we seem to be right back in the same position and we just spent all 7 draft picks on defense. When will this team wake the fug up and realize that fielding an actual line is important to the game of football?

This Franchise is under a new regime and this is their first season, give them a moment before looping then in with past failures

Where to begin?

First, I don't blame them for spending the entire 2020 draft on the defense.  It was the biggest priority we had, and as we moved further and further down the board, it was where the best value and potential impact was.  They might have been perfectly willing to take an OL in the 3rd or 4th round, if one they wanted was there.  I don't believe in reaching in the draft just to say somebody was drafted in a position of need.

From what we see now, OL is our biggest need going into the 2021 draft.  Our OL is not even good enough to protect a QB in a quick-throw offense.

The good news is there seem to be a lot of OT prospects ranked in the area where will be drafting in round 2.  There may be some good options in round 1, if we choose to go that far.  The last I saw, Sewell at Oregon was still the cream of the crop.  But he will go high, perhaps higher than where we draft.

True Centers are thinner in the 2021 draft.  Creed Humphrey (Oklahoma) and Josh Myers (Ohio State) are the cream of the crop, from what I have read, and one or both could well be around when we pick in the second round.  There are some other options in the third and later, I just know nothing about them.

Trying to predict who will go when in the draft at this point is a fool's errand, but there is some depth at OT if a lot of things don't fall apart.  But, we may also be looking for an impact LB, TE, and DB.
