Rhule didn’t bring Teddy in for just this year LOL. He got a QB that he and Brady know they can build a great team around. It isn’t about wins this year. If you cannot see the the chemistry being built with this roster then you need to change glasses. I can’t wait til this time next year when additional adjustments are in place. The painting will be much easier for a lot of people to see the picture.

Teddy signed a three year contract that is basically a two year contract with a team option for a third year. If we thought he was the long-term answer, we wouldn't have signed him to a short-term contract. The Panthers have made no shortage of idiotic decisions in our franchise history, but honestly building a roster around Teddy Bridgewater would potentially be the dumbest.

He didnt bring him in for 1 year.  He brought him in for 2 and his contract reflects it.

Like I said, just wait for more paint to be added to the canvas and by this time next year the picture will be more clear for you to see his vision.

The part of the picture you're missing is that "more paint" likely equals "new young QB prospect".

Won't be necessary. The Panthers already have a quarterback producing at the upper echelon of the league in key areas.  Teddy Bridgewater is the main reason the Panthers are competitive in every game. There's no reason to believe that he will be worse in year two. The defense however could use the resources that some are willing to waste on a prospect to be named later.

There was some discussion about Teddy's travels with implications that it reflected poorly on his abilities as a quarterback. That is until it is noted that he was highly sought after by his last two teams, and was given significant salary increases by both.

TDs are important. We're 26th. 28th in passing TDs. Completion percentage and yards don't count on the scoreboard and you can't win games in today's NFL relying on FGs.

Yards and completion percentage does indeed count on the scoreboard if you need to keep the ball away from the other team until you can figure something out on defense. Teddy Bridgewater's offense is putting Joe Brady on people's short list for a head coaching job. He cut up the defense of the defending champions with 73% completion percentage and 300 yards. Now I ask you. If you had a quarterback that was making you look like head coaching material, would you replace him? And in addition, which is easier to upgrade, a quarterback that's top five in completion percentage and yards or a defense that can't. force a punt in two games.

The goal of an organization should be to win games and ultimately Super Bowls, not to get their OC to a HC gig quicker. Chud got a HC job after we went 13-19 through his two seasons as OC.

What you're missing is that one of the reasons Brady is well thought of is because of the success we're having despite the limitations at the most important position in football. Teddy's particular limitations (relative lack of arm strength and generally conservative decision making) just show up most dramatically in the red zone. His completion percentage plummets from 71.9% overall to 55.6% inside the 10. That's dramatic. That's 20th in the NFL.

The D absolutely needs to improve but we also need to be looking for a legit franchise QB.

Hello Board,

I am a stranger in your midst. I am a Vikings fans who was just peeking in to see how you guys are feeling about Teddy. To my surprise it seems like you guys are really down on him. Vikings fans love the guy and most of us would take him back in a heartbeat. I read a comment that he doesn't have "IT" and it blew my mind. If there is a QB in the league with "it"  that's Teddy. He lacks the physical tools in some departments but his smarts and his ability to get guys to play hard for him is up there with the best in the league. I know you have lost a few late games but from the games I have watched, its not on Teddy. Before you past judgement on Teddy consider a few things...

1. He is playing without the focal point of your offense. An offense doesn't easily transition to another player with CMC out.
2. No real offseason due to COVID. You are judging a QB 8 games in without a proper offseason.
3. You oline is struggling. Perhaps they are better than shown but you are letting your QB get hit a lot.
4. You WR corp is a bunch of talented 2s. You lack a true #1 WR and even a defense stressing TE. When you pair this with CMC missing his 7th game out of 8 or 9.... What exact do you want Teddy to do?

Also forgot to point out that with the Vikings Teddy had the best QBR in the final 2 mins of games in the league. He was also highly ranked in game winning drives (1st or 2nd i think). Clutch isnt a problem for Teddy. When the focal of your offense comes back, his play will elevate even more.

Maybe, your WRs aren't winning in the redzone because they are mostly undersized guys (including Anderson who is tall but not stout). Then again, its an 8 game sample size.
