How about you check Football Outsiders DVOA which ostensibly takes more of a contextual approach to raw stats, then get back with me!

I don't have a PFF subscription, but I'd bet that they're a little more complex in the way they rank units as well.

I've never been interested in the stat geek "systems". Raw numbers are what they are.
