Teddy experiment needs to be over

Teddy is most likely going nowhere next year. It may be a perfect time to grab a guy and let him sit, building OL in the process.

This. Teddy gives us the opportunity to draft a guy we like and not feel forced to play him before he's ready. I just hope that guy is there.

This was a horribly coached game though by Rhule and company.    Let's be honest.    Bad clock management which reminded me of Rivera.   Real questionable calls from Brady.   Second half Mike Davis gets it going and we just stop handing it off.   I think this was easily the worst coached game.

Behind a competent offensive line, he could work as your QB.  Because when he's got time, he's good at making the right decision and putting the ball where it needs to be.  Yes, his arm is limited. No, he's not a world beater, but he's good enough to win under the right conditions.  We do not have the right conditions.  And even a competent offensive line is going to run into bad matchups or strong defenses, and when they do, you want a QB that can overcome poor play from those around him.

Teddy is good, not great.

With such poor play on the OL and defensive backs, we need great to win.

And that's exactly the take that many of us have had since the start. Not hating on Teddy, just the reality - that type of QB leaves minimal margin for error anywhere else.

The fact that he threw only one pick getting pressured nearly every fuggin play is astounding

No its not.  Again, just like the Bears did, they send pressure and man up on the back end and force Teddy to beat them and he can't.  A halfway mobile qb makes them pay on those scrambles.  A halfway decent QB hands off that ball on that 4th down read option instead of trying to be a hero and getting ragdolled as a result.  A halfway decent QB doesn't throw the game ending pick in Chicago, or the numerous turnovers he has against Tampa, or the sack against New Orleans, or the dumbass pass he just threw up for grabs to end that game.  That poo isn't an aberration, it is the expectation and the norm at this point.  He blows games.  Russell Wilson has played behind a shitty OL his whole career, and yet, he's constantly an MVP candidate.  Thats what a real franchise QB does.  Teddy does what Teddy just did.

You need great to win in this league unless you have an elite defense and a lot of luck. I wouldn’t want to count on the latter, would rather we just try to find a franchise QB. It’s worth the risk in this upcoming draft, even if we need to give up assets to trade up for our guy. Now’s the time.

Sorry I can't blame it 100% on TB.  That's probably the worst offensive line I've seen even before Newton got here.  Its insane how bad they've been playing the last 3 games.

Oh absolutely. However, that last play was a huge head-scratcher and entirely on him.

No clutch gene and no it factor. It’s apparent enough already. Like the dude, he makes some good plays and some nice throws - but for this team to ever get where they are trying to go it won’t be with Teddy. Unfortunately trotting him our every week will he just good enough to keep us from drafting any true elite talent at the position unless we just get plain lucky.
