Some of you guys doesn’t pay much attention to any other teams or players. Just typing immature statements hoping that it’ll stick somewhere. Simmons has been balling out recently. He has so much more upside than Chinn. Both guys are going to be good but Simmons has elite talent. Panthers fans need to quit shatting on Simmons foreal just because we have Chinn.

Is this Dabo? Sure whines like Dabo.

He's been playing well RECENTLY but he wasn't even on the field for most of the first half.  Obviously your statement that he has more upside is based on what?  He went to a Power 5 school?  Let's put it this way.  Had we had taken Simmons over Brown we lose.  Chinn is, at minimum  equal to Simmons.  So we would have had Simmons but no dominate DT.  (Brown will be a dominate DT)

Plus I notice most of your comments are negative towards anything the Panthers do so I take you're love affair with Simmons over Chinn as a standard reply from you.

Just make him a SS and be done with it.

I do not know enough about it all to comment about his usage, but yes, he is a SS by definition.  But he can cover wide outs and he can play the box like a LB. By moving him around you can give different looks in different situations without changing personnel.  Vs. the hurry up offenses, I imagine that can increase his value and make game planning more difficult--speculation as to why they move him around so much, but he is an All Pro SS, if you ask me.

It’s Venables.

So if you have what you know now in your unbiased, analytical, objective brain  and you are the Panther GM and your phone rings and you get an even swap--salaries not a factor--trade offer for Chinn for Simmons.

You make that trade?

Justin Herbert has been absolutely disgusting since he took the playing field. I can’t think of many people who thought he was “ready” right now and somehow he is outplaying most of the good QBs.

I gave him the curse of the Oregon QBs----they have rarely panned out.  They are all haunted by the ghost of Dan Fouts, the last Duck worth a Duck.   I can also say that a few years before that, I was not of the midset that Josh Allen was in the same league as the other three QBs at the top of that draft (Mayfield, Darnold, although USC QBs are like Duck QBs, and Rosen, same with UCLA QBs.)  I laughed when KC took Mahomes over Watson.

I am the Huddle QB whisperer.  When I give QB advice, people walk away whispering, "What the....???"

And Being a SS allows him to do all of that. Though I'll leave it to the pros to make this determination and not take my fans perspective too seriously.

I think we're lining up with 3 Safeties at all times.

He's playing a hybrid S / LB role (Striker).

The big nickel.  I think that is what we are seeing, and the third S (Chinn) is so important because he does add flexibility---We just need a FS that can cover the deep half and tackle.

I'd stick with Chinn.  I think he's going to be very special when we get a couple more good defender with him...
