The same ones saying we should’ve traded Brian Burns are the same ones constantly bashing Teddy.

It’s almost like they have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about

Who are these trade Burns people? He was universally loved during the draft, still can’t believe we got him but Atlanta, Washington and the Giants were stupid. Way more people saying to trade CMC. I don’t even recall a trade Burns thread.

Funny that the social media team felt it was relevant enough to turn into a major post like that. I'd say the questions are much wider than 'certain huddlers'.

Teddy made a good throw to a wide-open DJ, no question, and near 50 air yards. That's a game-changing type of play and glad to see it, as these are the plays needed to hang with the top teams. Full credit to him on this one.

That said, it's 1 in 7 games and I'm hoping to see some more, perhaps where the guy has coverage within 5 yards.

Also, I've never said a thing about trading Burns, but then again I don't actually bash Teddy either. Equating looking for more out of Teddy with thinking Burns should be traded is just... inaccurate.

Teddy can’t throw deep! *watches him complete a deep pass* Well I mean the guy was open, so he should magically develop the arm strength to complete such a pass.... (If he can do it when they are open, he can do it when they are covered, it’s just a high risk/reward when they are covered). Honestly he should only get better as he learns our system and develops chemistry. Is Teddy elite? No. Is he good enough? So far it looks like he might be...

True and if you watched the play Moore did have to slow up. It’s hard to measure deep ball accuracy when there’s no defender. He made the throw, simple as that but it wasn’t a difficult throw. Moore slowed down, not enough to allow the defender back in the play, which in all honesty is better than a cannon arm with no touch that overthrows a wide open guy.

Yep. When a guy's wide open like that I'd much rather he have to slow up a touch and wait on the ball rather than risk a miss. Absolutely the right call to make the safe throw in those situations.

I don't really see him slowing relative to the speed he was running his route. Good shot taken by Teddy either way though.

I hope the players don’t

They read the forums, and if not they read all the nonsense people spread on Twitter. It's all social media at the end of the day. Very few of these athletes live in a bubble anymore, especially in this day and age.

You know who else reads this forum?

I rewatched and noticed he slows down a little. It was still a solid throw. The only bad thing is an overthrow. He would have had to really under throw it to make him stop enough to get the defender back in the picture. That’s the not great result but is still a 40 yard gain. He put some air under it and made it an easy adjustment, so he did exactly what was needed. A perfect in stride throw is not necessary and becomes too risky. Nothing worse than a cannon arm not putting any touch on a broken coverage. If the coverage is good but a step behind then you need a perfect throw to not let the defender have a chance. Great coverage then either you trust your guy or sometimes the under throw works best to draw a penalty or give the WR the advantage.

Bottom line was that it was a solid throw that took the risk of an overthrow out of the equation and didn’t slow Moore down too much. As @LinvilleGorge said earlier, it’s not a hard throw because he was so wide open so as long as you have a little air Moore can adjust and still get a TD.
