Our OL is middle of the pack at worst by most every metric.

An average oline team has gotten to the Super Bowl 2-3 times in 10-15 years. Deep in the playoffs isn’t much better. You have less than a 10% chance of going deep in the playoffs with an average line With a top defense and best weapons in the game.

More like we have a great RT and have been average at LT. As one of the quickest if not the quickest schemed offenses in the league for releasing the football I’m not sure average is all that great.

Paradis is doing better this year but he’s paid to be much better.

LT is still patchwork. Most important position on the entire line has no future.

The guards are worthless.

There is zero depth behind the entire line.

This team literally has one consistent, starting caliber olineman in Moton and due to failures hasn’t been resigned until it will be at a premium.

The secondary is bad an not being able to sign BB was true idiocy and mishandling of the cap but I cannot think of any area of the team that has been botched for a longer period of time than the oline.

Everyone realizes a great oline doesn’t grow on trees, but I’m sure you can do better than 1.

How many successful efforts have been made to replace the retiring franchise LT and C when they left the team?

Moton and....I’ll count Oher even if it was only 1 year. That’s 2 in 6-7 years.

When our defense can't get opposing offenses off the field, and someone wants to say our problem isn't the defense,  i can no longer take this person as a serious football fan.

Sure you want 86 Giants or Bears D but we are ranked 13. Far cry from the bums you you make them out to be.

You wanna know why we aren’t , it’s nit the defense, defense is managed, it’s the offensive line , something that we fail to take serious year in and year out something that’s very important , if we have a good offensive line we would have won every game . We are a good team we didn’t get blown out and every game was winnable , but the offensive line failed us .

That’s the same offensive line that made us competitive this year....

I hope this is correct, it was on sports radio today.  Talking about 3rd down conversions.

No team in NFL history has allowed a 3rd conversation rate above 50% in NFL history over the course of a season.

7 teams are on pace to do that this year.  We are one of those.

It’s correct. We are the second worst in the NFL at 56%. The Titans are somehow at a mind blowing 61% yet have a 5-1 record.

The Saints, Bills, Cowboys, Giants and Raiders are all right at 50%

I wonder if the new rule is playing a role here?

new rule: refs being more lenient with holding calls. Basically the NFL saying “we want more points”

well when your rules lean toward the offense then the defense will be impacted. Especially statistically.

Possibly for the other teams but I don’t feel like it’s had much of an effect on us. There have been a couple missed against but certainly not anymore than any other year.

i woke up freezing cold this morning and while drinking my coffee I re watched the high lights and came across the 4&2 where we would have one if we didn’t have a weak  veggie burger eating offensive line . We need some hogs that eat raw beef and raw fish for break fast with a side of nails . All jokes a side we need to build the line . Moton is fine but the rest are gone . And I know this is different from my normal positive posts but it just makes me sick seeing the oline cost us games

and you should too

sorry for the rant

I don’t know about that... I have about 5 in mind over the last two weekends alone. 2 of which were hands to the face, once a blatant crack block and the other two were full on holds.  This doesn’t count the ghost PI calls on us and the ghost roughing the passer two weeks ago.

Those are just 7 I recall, and those would impact that percentage pretty well.

We have a low level of talent on our roster. We are overachieving because Teddy is great at executing our offense. Our offense is good at disguising our lack of talent on the o-line, TE, and no true #1 WR.

The wheels start to come off when we face teams that are not only more talented overall, but can also bully us in the trenches. This causes our offense to lean even more on Teddy, and the result is usually going to be a meltdown.

The good news is that we have several terrible players on both offense and defense who will be upgraded through the draft and free agency. The 2021 team will be leaps and bounds better talent wise due to the extreme upgrades that will occur at multiple starting positions on both sides of the ball. We could add CB1, CB2 (move Jackson to slot), Safety, LG, TE, DT, ect. Upgrading the secondary will create a tighter pass defense with more interceptions, pass defenses, and coverage sacks. A better player at LG reduces sacks and pressure, and boosts the run game. A TD machine type TE with tremendous height and athleticism will cure our redzone woes. Adding a great pass rushing DT to pair with Brown and Burns will be lethal. We can have a badass team next season. Right now it's going to be a struggle.
