Are you really gonna use jared allen as an example?

He's got 6 of his 10.5 sacks against green bay and your complaing at peppers for only turning up for games with a bad oline.

I'm not gonna disagree with you about peppers being frustratingly inconsistent but jared allen is not the best example of someone who turns up every game.

There has never in the history of the NFL been a player get a sack in every game. Why should you expect that of Peppers? He is on pace to tie his sack record from last year which was a career high for him. So when you say he used to be able to get to the QB like it was nothing but has now lost his edge what exactly do you mean? He has actually done a better job getting to the QB the last two years.

Dude are you blind are something. Peppers is not even trying anymore. I can see that. Peppers once was a good DE who could get to the QB like it was nothing. But peppers is going on 32 years old and he shows no care in the world for winning for this team anymore. He is just here to collect his pay and thats it. Pepper this season has got his sacks off of QBs that have bad records. Skins, Bucs and so on. But when it comes to big time teams peppers no long can cut it. You don't see Jared Allen of the vikes getting slowed down by tackles very much. Great DEs always finds a way to get to the QB no matter what. Reggie White did and Jared Allen is doing that samething. There should be no excuses why Peppers should Disappear in big time Games one bit. Peppers point blank Just don't care and his age is showing. I can't tell you right now Peppers will not be resigned. He is done as a panther.

It's actually 7.5 of 10.5. He has 3 sacks outside of his games against Green Bay.

How they didn't call more holding penalties is beyond me, there were a few times where he had a good shot at getting Brees or the RB and there was an arm around his throat or two fistfuls of jersey holding him back in a blatant manner...

First of all he won't even be 30 until January. Jared Allen has been getting his sacks in bunches. Everyone acts like if Peppers doesn't get a sack every game he's "taking plays off" or "he's done as a Panther." If you were watching the game, you would know he wasn't even on the field in the 4th quarter because he possibly broke his hand. Just as it was stated by someone else in this thread, Jared Allen has 7.5 sacks against Green Bay, 3 against everyone else they have played. He has 3 games with no sacks. Peppers has 3 games with no sacks. Guess Allen took plays off in those 3 games. Get your facts straight before you post. You can't even get his age right. People like you put unreal expectations on him and then when he doesn't perform to those expectations you start saying he's done. Learn football before you show your stupidity.

I was going ballistic in the gameday thread over that. There were several instances where he had his guy beat and what would have been a clear shot at Brees for a blindside sack/fumble was stopped by the NO tackle basically draped on his shoulders from behind.

The vast majority of guys who rack up big sack totals get them in bunches from single games while being held to pressures only in others.

After a game when nobody expected anything, Julius Peppers came out and was dominant.

And now, in a big game, when we need him most, he fails to do anything. It's not about sacks.. it's about being a disruptive force.

Julius simply disappears when we need him most. He did it this Sunday, and he did it against Arizona in the playoffs. I don't care what he does against teams that are playing terribly. If you can't step up in the big games you are 100% worthless.

The "he was held all day" arguments are getting old. EVERYONE is held all day. This is the NFL.
