For what it's worth, PFF has Douglas, Donte AND Elder all ranked in the top 30 CBs in the league... I don't agree with PFF, but I don't think our corner group is nearly as bad as people here think.

The corners aren't good, but they're not horrible. Linebackers on the other hand.........

Didn't cost us much, might have possibly worked out, when it didn't it gives someone else an opportunity. Sometimes you grab a name brand on the closeout rack and get a steal, sometimes you get something that's worth about what you paid for it. Such is this.

May the guy who gets the spot make the most of his chance. I think with this coach, if you give it your all and buy in, you get rewarded. If not, they give you a bus ticket and some old Keyshawn Johnson Panthers jerseys.

Low risk one year deal. Can’t blame him. Took a chance that could have paid off.

Instead of signing old FA.. We complained when they didn't do moves like this.. Signing young FA who haven't worked in other places to cheap deals... low risk high rewards right??

Yeah I have zero problems with either the Roberts or Apple signings. Both were cheap 1 year deals on potentially high reward guys. Apple was a top 10 pick and Roberts had some solid years on bad Raiders teams. On top of that they are both relatively young.

They didn’t work out but it barely cost us anything. We did hit on Burris and Douglas who were similarly young and cheap. They aren’t stars but they are the type of players you need to fill out your roster with.

Apple had a 1 year deal that was under 3 million. That's nothing. You can put lots of money in to Moton but you still have to pay other players too.

SMH, wasting cap adds up. I point to $20M in wasted cap for no production this year and you cherry pick one of the 3. @onmyown’s post covers it. I mean this is clearly a rebuilding year even if the players and coaches have exceeded expectations since Tepper sent out a be patient letter before the year. Even rebuilding we have less than $5M in cap space to roll over so no, it’s not nothing when we spent $20M on players who aren’t in the 5 year plan and gave us nothing.

Particularly in a season where going to work might get you sick with an illness that has knocked at least one young and healthy NFL player out of the league for the year, I don't blame him (Reid).  If I don't get a shot at starting and I'm financially able to sit it out, I definitely would too.
