Joe Person said that he was released after telling coaches he couldn't go (and leaving practice early).

Yep.  Matt Rhule ain't here for that nonsense.  Sounds like the medical people cleared him but Apple didn't want to participate.

Rhule has been consistent that he wants guys to practice the way he wants the team to play in games.

Injuries are one thing, but you can't build a "tough-ass football team" with guys that aren't willing to put forth the effort.

Good riddance.  Just like Seth Roberts not knowing where to line up.  Rhule knows this team lacks the talent to compete for a Super Bowl, but he is instilling the mindset they need as they continue to build the team.

This dude was a top 10 pick and was just released from one of the thinnest, least talented secondaries in the NFL. He will probably bounce around the NFL for a couple more seasons but if I were him I would be saving that $$$$$$.

For what it's worth, PFF has Douglas, Donte AND Elder all ranked in the top 30 CBs in the league... I don't agree with PFF, but I don't think our corner group is nearly as bad as people here think.

What we really should have done is waited until next Wednesday to cut Roberts and Apple in hopes that someone picked them up on waivers so we weren’t on the hook for the remainder of their salaries due to veteran termination pay.

Though I have a feeling Rhule just wanted both of them gone immediately and I do appreciate the messages sent with the 3 cuts over the last two days.

Go out to a restaurant and party without a mask? GTFO

Don’t know where to line up? GTFO

Be medically cleared but refuse to practice? GTFO

You prob right. It’s better than I thought they would be that’s for sure. Youngsters like Pride also getting a lot of PT.

Having had a few knee injuries, I can tell you that I've been cleared by physical therapists and doctors and still not felt 100% or trusted the injury yet. Not saying this happened here, but I'm not so quick to dismiss that response.

    • Kraven has awful shitty comic book movie vibes all over it. It's just more of whatever studio owns the rights to the Spiderman set, but no longer actually has Spiderman anymore. Wicked is probably no more enjoyable. 3 hour long musicals are tough to endure.
    • One of those guys who throws a pass that makes you yell "OMG" then immediately follows it with one that makes you go "WTF" 😳 Essentially the Brett Favre prototype...
    • The Giants games are an interesting comparison for sure. We could compare the Chiefs vs the Bucs as well, since at least both teams are largely the same as they are now, rather than the Giants whose coach lost his mind after losing to us. 30-24 KC in overtime. Hunt had 106 yards and Mahomes had 291. Baker threw for 200 yards, but 2 TDs. Their leading rusher had 25 yards or something. Our offense outperformed what the Bucs did vs KC, but being a division game we won't have the benefit of being overlooked. If our D plays how it did in the 4th quarter I think we can get some stops.  Can Bryce carry a second game? I'd rather not find out and have Chuba carry the load, but we'll see.
