I've never seen football played the way you just described it.  I will say I don't want to see it myself but I don't judge.

Its so frustrating watching the d line have success like this just for the opposing qb to be able to dump the ball off to a wide open receiver on a curl route 5-6 yds down field.

Unless they can get there in less than 2 seconds like burns can periodically it doesnt matter.

Unfortunately, this is a symptom of our poor run defense.  We are giving the opponents too many 3rd and short situations.  When it's 3rd and 3 and the offense chooses to throw for it, you just don't have time for a rush to get home against a good team.

Brown has been good so far, but he needs some help behind and beside him.  Our run defense at this point is nearly as bad as last year.

A guy can completely wreck the o-line every down but it's all for naught if no one makes use of the opportunities he is manufacturing. Sadly, it comes down to Brown and Burns are for real, but they're all we've got on the front seven. Shaq, while part of the front seven, is more often pulled into coverage to hide deficiencies there.

We have better playing pieces and someone who knows how to use them better, but our chess set is still missing three or four very important pieces for coordinator Snow. He's giving the opponents a helluva game considering the handicap, but it's not a winning formula yet.
