This was the smoothest sack I’ve seen in a while

No, but if he doesn't develop some strength to bull rush or something other than a dip move he won't have much impact except for an occasional splash play.  We need more than that out of him.

Just from the eye test, he's been producing most of our QB pressures. I believe Snow. The stats are coming.

Let's hope he can keep that up.  It's a long season and a lot of fights ahead.  I still have hope in him albeit reserved.

They call that a dip and rip move.

Julius Peppers was really good at that. Wouldn't surprise me if he's helped Burns learn it or improve it.

He got so low on the dip he didn't have to really engage his shoulder and left arm on the rip move to get through the block. I couldn't tell if the OT didn't expect him to get that low or didn't realize Burns was so quick but he didn't make much contact at all. Burns has a really quick first step.

As for Julius he was so athletic and strong that he could go around or through guys when motivated.

Hes the best at avoiding being touch, super slippery with odd angles and fake outs. I can not think of another player now or in the past that had the same skill set.

But Im be dang gum if the panthers dont need more pass rushers, Our sacks suck...YGM we need you bro..

He will only get away with for a short time.  He has to develop other aspects of his game to counter the inevitable decline in speed over time as most do.  He will need some power in his game when fast just won't get it done.

Lucky for us he's got some time. I've seen him use other moves this year but the speed and dip is his signature. What I really am more excited about is his run defense. That's gotten much better under Rhule.
