Brady dialed up a game winner

I feel like this could say a lot about what the Saints defense thought about Teddy and/or Carolina's gameplan as well. Scenario was ripe to drive the ball to the end zone and the safety still jumped on Robby across the middle.

Perhaps a tendency/limitation they've seen on film and prepared for, or perhaps just dumb safety play.

Teddy made them pay with a bomb to Moore earlier in the game when they were sitting on routes, Online just needed to hold up.

I’m not an offensive coordinator but wouldn't it have made better statistical sense in this moment to get a quick pass off and try to get a first and at minimum be at a comfortable distance for Slye to tie up the game if the conversion fails? Just seems like a long developing play that had a smaller chance of success...

Yea I'm with you in that situation play it close to the vest. I think this is just the growing pains of a young team learning to win.

On one hand, gutsy call to look for a deep route/potential TD in that situation as their tendency would likely be to play for the sticks...  but, as we discussed yesterday, the long developing play with no immediate outlet is a huge reason the sack happened there...

Entirely different situation though. I've no idea the true story, just thinking out loud.

Yep. That would've taken the type of throw that I haven't seen Teddy make yet. That's 50 yards in the air to a decently covered WR. That's no layup.

I'd say the opportunity was there, especially with the safety taking the underneath. I'd take that matchup.

Samuel had at least a step. All it would have required was for Teddy to lead him just a little.

Had Bridgewater been given time to set up, he probably could have thrown something similar to the touchdown he threw to DJ Moore earlier in the game.

There just wasn't time.
