Just Three Elite QB's

My definition of elite is probably a little different than most.  Admittedly, its a subjective opinion, but I believe that elite qb's perform well in crunch time.  Brees, Brady, and Rogers tend to be very clutch with two minutes left on the clock.  I think Mahomes probably is,  although I haven't watched him much in those situations.  Wilson is there as well, although he didn't show it last night.   So far, Bridgewater has not performed well in those situations, but then, the rest of the team hasn't either.  It something that has to change for us to be a contender.

To be fair, Mahomes probably doesn't get into as many "clutch" situations because by the time the fourth quarter rolls around, he's already kicking your ass.

Haha, and his team is 1-6. So he’s elite still? Fourth best QB in the league is 1-6? Yeah, I beg to differ.

Watson started out not so hot but he's really turned it around and is playing great. I can't blame him for that coach/GM making idiotic moves that gutted the roster and the entire organization currently being a dumpster fire.

Two of those three have losing records.

I agree that elite isn’t a word I’d use to describe Teddy, but he is for sure playing well.  Also, although I don’t think he’s the answer long term...I also don’t think losing records indicate whether one is elite or not, football takes probably the most teamwork than any other sport, and some games could’ve been won by better defensive performance or coaching decisions.  Again...on the same boat with you regarding Teddy, but a win/loss record isn’t a good sole indication.

I hope he proves me and you wrong though.

Leading a comeback from 24-0 to win 51-31 is pretty damn impressive, and the Chiefs overcame defecits in every playoff game last year including the Super Bowl... they were down 10 with 7 or so minutes to play in the 4th and won by 11. Mahomes is the epitome of elite.

Fwiw, he has had a couple of games that were close in the end, and he performed well in both.  Took his team down the field against the Bills and got a fg with two minutes left to give the chiefs a two score lead.  Got a td and two point conversion to bring the Cheifs within 8 of the Raiders, but then the Chiefs defense couldn't get the ball back.

Dude that franchise is in turmoil. The o line is worse than ours and their defense is non existent. If you watched football you would also see that their offensive play calling is NY jets bad.

By your logic Nick Foles is an elite qb this year

Bruh, with zero defense being played this year. If you put up stats, and your team still sucks it’s on you. As the old saying goes, those stats are empty stats.

Never been a big Watson guy from the get go. It always feels like empty stats with him.

They're 16th in the league in offense with the worst running game in the NFL while their defense is 29th. The problem ain't the QB.

Teddy Bridgewater is a game manager.  He can't take a team on his back and propel them to a win despite bad play from other positions.  He can't elevate the people around him.  He loses games at the last moment.

Watson is elite.  Look at his stats.  Ignore his team record.  Its not his fault.  Its everyone elses.  Ignore basically every standard we have in place for Bridgewater.

Watson is special.  Was in college.  Is now.

Houston is a dumpster fire organization that does him no favors.
