So far no update. Could be tomorrow before we hear anything. But it doe not matter at this point. Our season is over and our playoff hopes are just abotu gone. Our playoff hopes our on a thin string.

Yep, time to start tankin' and getting that draft pick closer to the top......

So it doesn't matter that we might lose who is arguably our best defensive player this year for the entire year??? Dude, really...this is a person we're talking about. We're gonna fight until we're mathematically eliminated and even then, they're still playing for pride. To say it doesn't matter suggest the team and the "fans" have given up. Not cool.

But I am getting a bad vibe about this injury. I think he was putting together a ProBowl type season. He will surely be missed. We can't afford any more injuries

I fully expected it to be a multi-week injury just from the nature of it. Typically, when a guy goes down without any contact, something usually tore. I just hope at this point its an one of the ligaments besides the ACL, so it'll be less of a recovery/rehab time.

Who knows though, maybe I'm wrong, and hopefully it's a sprain and he'll be back in a few weeks.

I thought so too at first, but usually if a guy is walking around on it within hours of the injury and if the trainers checked it and it wasn't really unstable, I think it may just be some kind of sprain.

I thinks it's odd that he was carted off eventually, yet he was able to walk on it after the game. That usually doesn't happen. I'm hoping for the best.

BTW, are we able to sign him to an extension during the season? Although I doubt we would be able to fit it under the current cap. And he's a RFA after the season, correct?

RFA if there is no cap, UFA is there is.

I'm not sure about all ACL injuries but would guess that it is an ACL sprain because you're correct, it takes days before you can really walk on it if it was a tear. However, the doctor who performed my surgory is one of the doctors for the Steelers, I live near Pittsburgh, and he told me that Hines Ward tore his ACL in like his second season and has never missed a game or has had it repaired. So who knows?

Well it's apparent he'll be out. I thought I saw Johnson on the injury report for this week too. Question to me is do we have anyone capable of taking over his spot? Conner? Anderson? Johnson? Obviously there will be a dropoff, but who gets that spot? And what kind of changes will we see to the defense???
