Get a franchise quarterback or build the offensive line?

See above though...

If we're not in a position to get one of the best three two or three quarterbacks available in next year's draft, do you still want to use a first round pick on one?

If you think the 4th QB is worth the 16th pick you do.

All the being equal you always take the QB over anything else, vary rarely are all things equal.

I wouldn't overdraft a QB and pass on an OT but if you like a QB you take them.

It’s my belief that a franchise quarterback can be created by a good situation, so much of their development seems to be based on their first few starting years , a good example of a talent in a bad situation is David Carr, and on the other side Dak Prescott/ Mahomes. Would they be as good if they weren’t groomed from the start to be great? Who is to say. But for me a Talented young quarterback can be made or broken by the team and coaches. Of course there are monsters like Cam and Luck, but they go number 1 for a reason.

Just now, top dawg said:

Carmichael was a '70s receiver. He was the first player that I actually remember and went to see.

I might have been thinking of Keith Jackson, granted wrong position but he was one of their better receiving threats.

Cunningham's best wide receiver was Mike Quick, and Quick was pretty good.

Personally I think we should build the offensive line first. We have teddy who is good enough to win. I would only draft a QB if the right guy falls to us. No point in drafting a QB if there isn’t a good offensive line to protect him. I mean how many top Qbs had their careers ruined because they had a horrible offensive line?

I'll be talking out of both sides of my mouth about this. QB is the most important spot in all of sports, by far. It takes very unique circumstances to break this line of thinking. Like the panthers 2021 OL, if you need 5 new starters and play your elite QB behind that..... you will not worry about how to correctly handle a elite QB any more since you not longer have a elite QB.

In fairness, we do have the ability to sit the rookie for a couple of years with Teddy here. We are in a more unique situation with a solid veteran on the roster.

I would add that a franchise QB makes his OL better in pass protection because of his ability to read defenses pre and post snap, getting rid of the ball quickly, and having the ability to move to buy time when needed.

Sounds like a veteran QB more so than a Franchise rookie QB.  Sounds like Teddy tbh.

Since we are gonna draft between 10-15, maybe trade back a little and I see picking a Center (late 1st) or possibly Guard (if we don't lose Moton). I would go CB or again OL in the 2nd or 3rd. I would even consider a great TE in the 2nd or 3rd.

If they go our a sign a great Center, I would be very happy too. If they draft between 5-8 and have to trade picks to move up to get a QB, then the rebuild takes longer, that's all.
