That's nice. But he had poo receivers that year as well. And J-Stew was a good but not great RB. Teddy will need a top 5 defense, damn good receivers which he has, and a good-great O-Line. Yeah, he needs a perfect team? Got it. McCaffrey being the best RB in the league too. HMHDTBN (how much help does Teddy BridgetothenextQB need)?

That's literally every QB.

From the Goffs and JimmyGs to the Elis and Ryans, to the Rodgers and Wilson's.

Look at all their SB wins an appearances.

You need a good defense. You need help.

Even Cam's defense in 15 was super good.

Herbert went one pick in front of us. We didn't have the opportunity to draft him.

I mean, if we're playing the hindsight game, Mahomes is our QB and we never draft CMC.

Mahomes playing for Ron Rivera instead of Andy Reid?

Ouch!

Yeah? That a fact? Because Mahomes defense last year was pretty meh. Not good at all, in yards per game. Only thing they were decent at was points per game, and they were 9th. Yikes.

Uh yeah, they're still good.

Frank Clark, Tyran Mathieu, the Fuller that was there last season, Chris Jones. In fact all of them made plays constantly throughout the playoffs (and the super bowl) to help that team win. We don't have a single player (outside of Burns) to provide that type of spark.

And did you say top 10 in scoring defense is a Yikes? boy howdy you're stretching you reach your point and you're still wrong.

Top 10 in scoring defense doesn't mean much, when the Phins were number 2 in scoring defense. It's like passing yards that dip shits on here like to bring up for Teddy BridgetothenextQB. The top 5 QB's last year all were mediocre, and all led the league in passing yards. ZERO made the Playoffs. So, it's a bull poo stat.

And all but 3 of the top 10 scoring defenses made the playoffs last year.

The Dolphins were not one of those teams (They were dead last, the only team we were better than.)

Scoring Defense is not the same as Passing Yards.

Well, I'll give you some semblance of credit. You don't think passing yards is a stat that matters much, at least that's what you insinuated by your post.

It would have been nice to have had that hindsight but that was never going to happen with that group

Franchise QB greater than a running back.

Passing Yards is one of the flukiest NFL stat by a wide margin. And I think most here realize that.

But in most cases, usually only extremely bad or extremely good, can you look at any stat in football without context.
