All of you were right about Cam

Yeah, sorry folks. I really don't think you're gonna have many people outside of the Panther fanbase suggesting that he's Hall of Fame worthy.

If the biggest claim to fame is some of the records that he set, you'd have to look back because I'm pretty sure some of those have been broken since.

And yes, he had an MVP season, but one MVP award also doesn't guarantee the Hall of Fame.

For it to happen, he'd need a pretty strong advocate arguing his case.

Sorry man...no.  Most rushing TDs by a QB, Top 3 in rushing yrds, MVP...multiple All Pros, NFL Rookie of the year and lots more.  He should be in...but would love a few more good seasons to cement it.  Cam was absolutely something the league hadn't/wont see again.

I don't give a damn what people think but Cam had more impact on this league than Steve Smith.  Just did.

I think he should be in but agree...after the Super Bowl season ,with what he accomplished, it was almost assured but questionable (not in my mind), somewhat now.

It going to be hard to deny a guy with every rushing qb record along with decent qb stats and his accolades but I’d like to see two more deep playoffs runs and maybe another Super Bowl appearance to make him that 100% first ballot

I'm not real sure you understand how to read those charts.

They don't actually support the argument you're trying to make. And if you took the time to look at the individual week breakdowns for 2018 you'd find even less support

Pointing that out apparently makes me a troll I'm not going to argue with someone who disproves their own argument and doesn't even realize it.

Its pretty sickening to me that 2 back to back games against the Broncos hurt his career this much.  Late hits in the Super Bowl uncalled were one thing but the brutality he dealt with in that first game of the season was game changing.  The NFL is protecting QBs mainly because of that game.  That was just immoral and fuggin disgusting

One of the Patriots beat writers actually took up the topic prior to this season. You can read his analysis here.

His basic conclusion is that while Newton isn't there yet, a good career with the Patriots could go a long way toward making that happen.

That's not likely at this point.

He also references the Pro Football Focus Hall of Fame Tracker, which you can see here.

There's probably a debate to come in the future as to who did more damage to Newton's career between the NFL and Panthers coaching.

There are arguments both ways. I'd probably lean toward Panthers coaching myself.

Since when is one multiple?

So the coaches should have not played Cam in those games.  Come on man

I'm not just talking about the injuries.

For the vast majority of his career, Newton's development was in the hands of Mike Shula and Ken Dorsey. Oh, and Ron Rivera of course.

Those are not guys you put in charge of shaping a generational quarterback talent.
