Bad tackling, lack of press coverage, dropping 8 defenders into zones and Brees still finding the opening target, lack of adjustments, and bad blitz designs and timing. Defense hasn't been the same since Mcdermott left.

I 100% agree with all that...

With the personnel we have Phil Snow is basically DC God of the Universe for keeping teams like the Falcons and Saints under 30.

We have people who would be out of the league if the gabbage Panthers didnt' pick them up and 2/3rd stringers. Basically we have 3 legit starters and that's it the rest would be backups even on last years team.

Again, Phil Snow sucks. But the personnel is garbage. So, does Phil Snow still suck?

I don't think personal world have saved him today. I think his system is great for QBs who are not good. But Brady,Rodgers, and Brees is going to rip it apart. Or any high level OC for that matter tbh.

To Snow’s defence, and I thought he called way too much zone today. He’s not the one out there whiffing tackles. A lot of those play calls look a lot better if we tackled Kamara or one of the receivers 10 yards earlier than when they were actually tackled.

I agree, we were f icing unknown receivers to much respect. You Can't play strictly or 80% zone against Brees with no pressure.

No we don't have star defensive players. The Saints didn't play with star receivers either, and we've still been in our games. I think we can win with tighter coverage and better DL play. The saints offensive line was moving out guys where they wanted them.

The Saints offense has significantly more talent than our defense has.

Judging any DC on this defensive roster is idiotic.  I've been pleasantly surprised with our defense, I fully expected them to be bottom 10 bad.

When the rookie DT allows a huge run game because of poor gap discipline that isn't on the scheme, that is on the player.  When the rookie CB misses an open field tackle that allows a 1st down that isn't on the scheme, that is on the player.

Snow tried really hard to cover deficiencies in our pass d with multiple looks I haven't seen us run. We ran 3-3-5 a few times with standup ends. We ran different variations of nickel. Man blitz, zone blitz, rolled coverage to disguise. Just didn't work. Didn't get the pressure Snow probably wanted aside from Burns and that is what ate us up.

Think it was clear we were gonna give up the run to compensate for the pass and do Kamara got his. Still, we were in it until the end so I am not at all displeased with Snow's defense. We just lack talent in the back 7 in a few key pieces. Boston has to go, we need a MLB, and Shaq has to step up and be consistently dominant or we move on from him. Chinn is the future.

We had a few ill timed blitzes with the DBs today.  Some bad play calls but nothing terrible.

We just look rather bland.  Brown is going to be fine but he's not a splashy type, Burns & Chinn are legit the only two really keeping this defense together.  Been pleasantly surprised with Corn Elder & YGM looked good until IR, but we really need to tighten up the box and get better awareness back there.

Chinn & Burns could both become stars in due time, but we need to go out and aggressively find a defensive leader at LB or S.  A guy that is reading everything, redirecting, communicating effectively.  It's impossible to find Luke level but let's do our best to seek that out.

There is a difference between playing well and playing safe. Dont get me wrong I give them props for holding down the fort but outside of burns getting significant pressure/sack or D brown snatching up a TFL there  just hasn't been no other potential for playmaking. They have to get more creative with what they have. Everybody knows success can be here and gone very quicky in the league. Once teams get a lot of tape it can go down hill pretty quickly. I didnt see anything different saints were doing from the bears last week. Teams are figuring snow out already it aint about talent.
