So What A Lot Of People Is Saying That Jake ISN'T A Liability & Doesn't Suck?

WOW! I can't believe the stupidity I'm reading on here. Some of you guys just want Jake to fail so bad that its clouded your judgement. I don't see how the HELL you can blame this game on Jake. I want him gone too but hell, he gave us a chance to win today. To put this loss on him is just pure biased ignorance. I didn't see tons of overthrown passes today like some of you guys are claiming. He had a few but you know what, so did Brees. He was an average QB today and that should be enough to win with the way this team is built. Turnovers, dropped passes, and defense lost this game.

And why does everybody seem to be walking on eggshells with D-Will? Can he not take some blame? A dropped touchdown pass and a fumble at our own 2 yard line returned for a touchdown were back breakers. But I guess everybody's got rose colored glasses when it comes to the RBs. I'm just as worried about the fact that our RBs have caught the fumbling bug as I am Jakes interceptions. Ball security is a big problem this year and that goes back on the coaches.

It's absolutely retarded to have D-Will as the #1 person to blame for the loss when we wouldn't have even been in position to win in the second half if not for him.

Jake's 17-30 stat should have an asterick, how many of the 17 were passes past 5 yards?

How many of Brees' were either. Most of the yards in a game are short passes which are turned into big gains or first downs. The asterisk that should be there involves the number of drops not short passes. Jake did all he was asked to do and if he had better help from his running backs holding the ball and not dropping an easy pas in the endzone, we would celebrating a big upset. Blame whover because it was a team loss, but Jake has had little to do with our problems yesterday. And thats all I am going to say about it since arguing with you about Jake is like trying to teach a pig to whistle, it is a total waste of time and won't change anything.

Just like we blamed Jake for the buffalo game because even though he passed well much of the game he made a few key errors, Williams gets the blame here with Stewart. He played well in the first half and poor in the second. His fumble takes away the touchdown run in the first quarter just like Jake's picks in the past erased good plays or long completions. How about using the same standards when evaluating all the players not just the ones you like or hate.

the coaching staff doesn't trust jake (evident in their playcalling) but they are too emotionally tied to him to let someone else start.

the players are in the same boat. he's their man and it doesn't matter if he is the 30th worst QB in the league or not. apparently they value loyalty to a player that used to be able to bring them back over winning in the now.

Seeing as how we wouldn't have even been in position to win if not for Williams, it's a little dumb to blame him for the loss, don't you think?

Without DeAngelo Williams, this game would have been over at halftime.

He played pretty good. Though he did have his fair share of slip ups. A couple dropped passes that would have helped us out alot and the fumble that ended the game. He is not without blame, to say the least.

that is very very true

Fox is afraid that Jake is going to throw picks and the playcalling, as a result, is predictable and vanilla. If you disagree, then watch some tape from when we had a fairly balanced offensive attack with Delhomme in previous years.

Williams was gashing eight in the box with safety help over the top for 8 yards per carry and we still couldn't get anything going in the air.

On that 1st and goal from the 1 yard line, they knew we had NO CHOICE but to rush the ball three straight times and when you know it's coming, it's not that hard to stop. There are only so many places you can go in that situation with a quarterback that doesn't throw. We may as well have been in the wildcat under center.

When we finally did throw, Jake throws to DeAngelo.... which catching the ball is the only thing that superman cannot do apparently. I admit the ball was there for him, but it was still high and DeAngelo didn't get into the league by catching passes.

The bottom line is that we have a liability at quarterback and I don't care how many impossible to incomplete passes they script for him, if he's not getting the proper yards per completion then he's not helping this team. Our passing game has become a modified version of our running game and has ZERO next level threat.

If you cannot see that, then you're blind. The coaches are giving him zero pressure throws like smoke routes and dump off passes and he still muffs them half the time.

He threw ONE good pass yesterday, and it was an incomplete pass to Dwayne Jarrett down the sideline. Had he put a throw like that on Smith, it would have been six.

The entire team is tired of Jake Delhomme. He has lost all respec in that locker room but there is more ......

Uhtil we GET A QB THAT CAN OPEN THE RUNNING GAME UP WITH A GREAT PASSING GAME, we are going to continue to lose like this. Until we get an offensive cordinator who can figure out how to get a subpar QB to pass correctly, we will continue to lose like this. Until we get a coach who will realize that PASSING AND RUNNING are ESSENTIAL in today's NFL and not RUN RUN RUN .... we will continue to lose.

And finally .... UNTIL WE GET AN OWNER WHO WILL COME OUT AND ADDRESS THESE ISSUES TO HIS FANS INSTEAD OF SITTING ON HIS FAT RUMP DOING NOTHING, we will continue to lose.

End of Line

Jake is decent butt he still thorws to high and does not pass well like he useto. Jake hinest did not cost us this game. But he just don't enough in the tank anymore to help win. Our d is what help us lose. Dwill fumble did hurt us. But Dwill ain't the blame neither. If our D would have played better then we would not have to be in that postion we was in. Plus our coaching staff failed to make adjustments when brees start gashing us for big yards and Peppers of all of them didn't do crap to help us. Jake was decent this game but is not a good one anymore. We need to put in Matt Moore now to see if he can do better. Our playoff hopes are gone now. What do we have to loss.

So how much do I have to drink to understand this drivel?

Not for nothing, but I decided to post on Pat Kirwan's little blog thing on NFL.com.

After watching the Panthers almost beat the Saints, I believe we would have if we used Delhomme more in the first half. But clearly, the coaching staff have little to no confidence in him. Would you start Matt Moore or would you stick with Delhomme?

Rich, I think you are wrong about the level of confidence the coaches have in Jake. I speak to John Fox every week and we always get on that subject. John emphatically states that Jake gives them the best chance to win. The Panthers went in with the attitude they had to run the ball, for two reasons: One, the Saints had a soft spot with the absence of DT Sedrick Ellis, and Two, the run game keeps Drew Brees off the field. The Panthers controlled time of possession by five minutes. Just wasn't enough.

Not saying I believe it, but just putting it out there.

Thats because he's loyal, doesn't mean it means that on the field. He need to stop the b.s.

You shoulda asked why Steve & Jake stay cursing their asses out. Cause they want to win badly? Sure, they cursing about more than just that
