So What A Lot Of People Is Saying That Jake ISN'T A Liability & Doesn't Suck?

And how did those last couple of drives turn out when Jake had the opportunity to throw the ball?

In years past, Panther fans wouldn't have been nervous at all with the Saints going up 23-20 late in the 4th because we knew that, if there's one thing that Jake's good at, it's throwing the ball for a game-winning drive late in the game. He utterly flopped at that today.

He didn't flop, he didn't get enough chances. We are still running the ball with less than a minute remaining. All night we ran all the time and threw when we had to. You don;t complete a bunch of balls when it is third and long. You also need to establish a thythm with a guy like Jake. You don't get that when you only throw once every two or three minutes and then abandon it even when it works for a few minutes more. We wasted several drives running every play no matter the down or distance. Davidson was afraid to pass today and instead of protecting Jake he made sure we don't win. Watch how many times we throw next week if Jake has success early. Davidson does learn from his mistakes, he just doesn't always adjust in the moment like he will have to learn to do.

Are yall saying maybe if we just let Jake throw the ball... we could... we could... actually... WIN?

I think you need to re-watch the game.. pay attention to the long drives we had. they consisted of Jake THROWING the ball. You will also notice what killed the drives... Play calling. Giving up on the pass (not because of Jake, as he was throwing fine), but because Davidson sucks at his job.

Then you will have a better assessment of this game.

To answer your question, since you weren't watching... Very well. It was Davidson who went back to run, run, run, smoke route... that killed drives, even after Jake was moving the ball down the field.

Re-watch the game, and then gain a better assessment of the game.

Let's see what he did he gave up two long Td passes and fumbled on the 2 yd line for a Td and had about 1 tackle. Im sorry but that was all other people. Jake made damn good passes TODAY, i'm not talking about the past im talking about TODAY and he was on it. I Blame Davidson and Peppers.

It can definitely be argued that Peppers fell off TODAY, but so did the rest of the DLine.. minus Brayton's sack/fumble.. What I mean is, they were ineffective in the 2nd half..

oh, that was a question. my bad.

today, just my judgment on how he did on the few drives Davidson mixed up the play calling, we could have had a much better chance. I don't really think the question can be answered, but I can say the drives stalled because Davidson forgot to mix up the play calling once we were in the red zone...

WOW! I can't believe the stupidity I'm reading on here. Some of you guys just want Jake to fail so bad that its clouded your judgement. I don't see how the HELL you can blame this game on Jake. I want him gone too but hell, he gave us a chance to win today. To put this loss on him is just pure biased ignorance. I didn't see tons of overthrown passes today like some of you guys are claiming. He had a few but you know what, so did Brees. He was an average QB today and that should be enough to win with the way this team is built. Turnovers, dropped passes, and defense lost this game.

And why does everybody seem to be walking on eggshells with D-Will? Can he not take some blame? A dropped touchdown pass and a fumble at our own 2 yard line returned for a touchdown were back breakers. But I guess everybody's got rose colored glasses when it comes to the RBs. I'm just as worried about the fact that our RBs have caught the fumbling bug as I am Jakes interceptions. Ball security is a big problem this year and that goes back on the coaches.

Hey come on fellas, 17 for 30 and no turnovers is the best we can hope for out of Jake. We already know he sucks and our gameplan tried to compensate for that. In the NFL your not going to win many games that way, so it's not much of a surprise as much as it is frustrating.

Jake's 17-30 stat should have an asterick, how many of the 17 were passes past 5 yards?

The DeAngelo fumble pretty much sealed the game. The Stewart fumble didn't help much either. The Front 4 got no pressure what so ever barring the sack in the first drive of the Saints. Bree's pretty much could do whatever he wanted, though you could put that on the Defensive Coordinator.

Seeing as how we wouldn't have even been in position to win if not for Williams, it's a little dumb to blame him for the loss, don't you think?

Without DeAngelo Williams, this game would have been over at halftime.
