I don’t know what the QB situation is gonna be in 2022 draft. But this years QBs draft is so deep that it would be a shame not to get a potential franchise QB this year. Either A) Teddy fully works out and the team commits to him or B) A QB falls to us in the later round in 2022 that can be a franchise QB or C) We trade up and get our guy this draft.
I am so confused with this team, Teddy’s contract makes it seem we are going to pursue a QB either this draft or next. But the team doesn’t seem to be acting like they are gonna draft a QB this draft or next. Because winning. I doubt we will do poorly enough next year to get a draft position high enough to draft a QB. I have no idea who may be declaring for the 2022 draft.

2022 draft is looking pretty damn weak at QB right now. Obviously still plenty of time for guys to emerge but right now the list is Sam Howell out of UNC and that’s kind of it for guys you would project in the 1st right now. Howell’s a very good college QB but I’m not sure he is really a guy you look at and say that’s an NFL QB.

There is certainly no Lawrence or Fields next year. Anyone else will be a late riser.

Spencer Rattler is going to be a good one too.

He’s got the arm for sure but he is just all over the place right now from what I’ve seen.

Another guy is that Milton kid out of Michigan. He looked really damn good on Saturday night. Really raw but he is pretty damn similar to Cam from a size, athleticism and arm strength stand point. He will be one to watch over the next two years. I guess he is actually eligible for the draft this year. I thought this was his second year in college. Still he is super raw and I would be pretty surprised if he comes unless he really blows up.

To be fair, they could’ve wanted to be semi competitive. He does have an out after year 2. So you can say that but the contract says otherwise.

Semi competitive?  Really.  Lets spend $40-60m to be semi competitive.

He doesn't have an out for the sole reason they plan on drafting someone, he has an out because his resume doesn't give him the clout to get a better contract.

First year starting man. Still putting up damn good numbers with 15 TD’s and 5 INT’s. He’s going to be real good when he starts to “get it.”

The Athletic has a piece on Zach Wilson who probably will be in our draft range.  I havent seen him at all other than the clips they posted but yeah they seem pretty high on him and the balls he throws remind me of Burrow.

Just glancing though he does seem kindof frail.  Not a big frame

I prefer any of the OL that was picked after Pitts, as well as Wade and Farley.

I think if Bridgewater has a better OL (where have we heard this before), he would be pushing into the top-6 QBs in the league. We have the weapons to do some damage and the defense will be stout in another year or two.

Re-signing Moton is the utmost importance. Figure out if Little, Daley, Miller and Larsen can be part of the future moving forward anywhere on the line, and then fill in the blanks in FA and the draft accordingly.

Bringing Samuel back is huge too, but I have a feeling he gets a big offer elsewhere and I'd prefer that money to be spent on replacing #52.

Teddy is young enough and shown enough this year to be our franchise QB, IMO. Not the flashiest, but definitely more than just a game manager that "can't throw a deep ball".

I am not understanding the logic of mocking a draft where we get Pitts?  Seems pretty lazy

The idea is that we don’t have a dominant red zone type of player and this would push Teddy from good to great. Draft oline in round 2 and 3 or bring in some in free agency and great night turn to elite. We need a TE, badly. Kyle Pitts right now would be better than any TE we’ve had since before Greg started getting hurt every year.

Teddy had all the weapons in the world with NO last season and he wasn't "great." So how would a rookie suddenly make him great?

I disagree. Teddy had one great WR, a good TE and an amazing running back who was not healthy. There is a major difference in healthy vs hobbled Kamara.

Teddy in Carolina has been good. He hasn’t been great. What would make him great to you? Better TD to INT? Better red zone numbers? You can stack the offensive line but our WRs weak area is the red zone at the moment. The one who who could change all that is a pass catching TE. I’m very critical of Teddy but id like to hear where you stop at Good, Great and Elite for the current crop of QBs in the NFL.

No offense but Kyle Pitts is not the secret ingredient to unlocking Teddy
