Justin Fields looks like a monster out there today. Only incomplete pass was a 40+ yard bomb to the end zone that the receiver caught and then dropped as he hit the ground.

He just put on a clinic to start the 2nd half.  Really nice touch on his passes and great movement in and out of the pocket.

I don't think he'll be there for us but I like him a lot.

Lawrence starting to backpedal on leaving this year. Damn, that Jets black hole has him thinking. Selfishly, I am all for it. Gives us a “chance” still and I’d enjoy watching him play in person a few more times when CV is hopefully gone. He might still leave but it’s the Jets.

I don’t know what the QB situation is gonna be in 2022 draft. But this years QBs draft is so deep that it would be a shame not to get a potential franchise QB this year. Either A) Teddy fully works out and the team commits to him or B) A QB falls to us in the later round in 2022 that can be a franchise QB or C) We trade up and get our guy this draft.
I am so confused with this team, Teddy’s contract makes it seem we are going to pursue a QB either this draft or next. But the team doesn’t seem to be acting like they are gonna draft a QB this draft or next. Because winning. I doubt we will do poorly enough next year to get a draft position high enough to draft a QB. I have no idea who may be declaring for the 2022 draft.

I've been saying it all along, Teddy's contract is a "we think we can win with this guy contract".

It isn't a 3yr, $60m contract because they plan on drafting another guy, its a 3yr, $60m contract because that is what Teddy's resume warrants.

Just because they plan on keeping him that doesn't' mean they are going to automatically pay him market value, 5yr, $150m.  They are going to pay him as little as they can to mitigate risk.  If their only goal this entire time was to draft another QB no matter what, they would have never signed Teddy to start with.

With all that being said if Teddy plays poorly and/or the right prospect presents itself his contract isn't so large that we can move on from Teddy without a a huge cost.

To be fair, they could’ve wanted to be semi competitive. He does have an out after year 2. So you can say that but the contract says otherwise.

I couldn’t care less about the Tar Heels so I’m not some homer...

Chazz Surratt will end up being a 1st rounder. Dude is so damn athletic and raw still which is crazy. Slide him in next to Shaq with Chinn roaming around... yikes

Chazz is the second best player in his own family.  :)
