(We Dodged a bullet) Implosion coming in Dallas

Jones was always going to hire a name.  When he caught a major ration of heat from his fans for hiring yes men, he hired Parcells.  When Parcells became more associated with the Cowboy brand than Jones, Jones pushed him out promoted Garrett and had another yes man.  He shoots from his ego.  In his mind, they are Jones' Cowboys of Dallas, which is probably better that the Washington Football Team.

The only credit I'll give McCarthy in Green Bay is when Favre retired (perhaps was pushed out) and then unretired, he made it known he was sticking with Rodgers.  That may not have been decision, either.  But, they won one Super Bowl with Rodgers, and they tried to lose that one.  The only guy I wanted here less than McCarthy was McDaniels.

The Cowboys are one of those teams that the sum of the parts is never as good as the individual pieces.  That was true under Garrett, and at least after six games, looks worse under McCarthy....Dak or no Dak.

Their defense is terribad though. Like worst I've ever seen in the NFL terrible. They were expecting to legitimately compete, not rebuild. McCarthy was hired to get that team over the hump. Right now it looks like he's driving it off the cliff and it looked like that prior to Dak getting hurt.

I was watching ESPN yesterday and they said at the current pace Dallas will be in the top 5 of most points allowed in a season ALL TIME.

They also showed Dallas's last appearance in a NFCCG was 1996 which means we started their fruitfulness (Jan. 5 1997) in the 96-97 post season.

Dallas is looking like what I thought we would be in 2020.

Yeah, it's not like he checked a Rooney Rule box or something. There was no reason entertaining him if we weren't legitimately interested.

little known section of the rooney rule:  teams, once a decade, must interview a big toe with a face on it.

Decades ago when he ran off Jimmy Johnson because Johnson was stealing too much of his shine in his eyes. Dude has the biggest ego in a room full of massive egos.

That’s the main reason I’m not a Cowboys fan anymore. I’ll admit that I grew up a fan way back before the Panthers existed and I didn’t live in NC. Earliest football memories where the SBs against Pittsburgh. I loved Jimmy (from UMiami as well) and his bravado even though I liked Landry. As soon as Jerry ran Jimmy off and buried the franchise and I got into FF, I dropped them. Always hated him for the team and enjoy seeing them continually suck when everyone thinks they’ll be good. Picked up the Panthers when I moved here years ago.

The dispute with Jimmy Johnson was one of the worst moments for the Cowboys, but I've long maintained the failure of Bill Parcells is equally bad.

Why? Because it emboldened Jones.

Cowboy people had spent years trying to talk Jones into bringing in a "football czar" and letting that guy run things. They finally succeeded with Parcells. But when Parcalls didn't deliver, Jones basically said "Well that didn't work, so we're going to go back to doing things my way."

Stephen Jones actually seems to be smarter than his dad when it comes to football. He's probably the only hope Cowboy fans have right now.

Yeah, in the Cowboys' previous 4 games they'd scored 40, 38, 38, and 37 points and still went 1-3. That's incredible. We saw what happens last night when you remove that legit franchise QB from the equation. The D is still all-time bad and without being able to put up big scores they just get flat out waxed.

The cowgirls have fallen behind massively to everyone pretty much... that defense is going to compete for all time NFL worst....
