I wasn't sold on Rhule, but I 100% called it on McCarthy.  Had absolutely no interest in him...  he is what I call a "hood ornament coach."  They're really just good at the PR/public face-side of the business, but they have zero ability as strategists, gameday managers, etc.  McCarthy is useless on gamedays and to me, was essentially Ron Rivera-redux.  Hopefully, Ron learned from his first go around here and does well in WSH, but most of these types of coaches don't, as being evidenced by McCarthy.

I am glad we didn't hire Mccarthy.  But Dallas has the same issues this year they have had for years.  More hype than talent/ability.  I would say they need a new GM more than they need a new coach.  Hurney would be an improvement in Dallas.

Not a fan of McCarthy at all and absolutely did not want him here (offensive version of Rivera). But to be fair to him, is there a single HC in the NFL right now that would fair much better working under Jerry Jones this year with Dak out for the season? I honestly don't think so. And that roster overall really is not that good. D is terrible and while they have weapons on O that OL has fallen off a cliff due to age/injuries and zero depth. I'd argue our OL is better than the Cowboys' right now, which is truly fascinating when you look at the names on each team...

Also shocker, Dallas is bad.

While a chunk of that is on McCarthy they're about as beat up as Philly is, another chunk is losing some of their best players to FA.

But also McCarthy is awful.

You might be right, but then that just amplifies the fact that Jerry is the biggest problem for Dallas.

By all accounts, they basically had to hog tie his ass in the war room to keep him from drafting Johnny Manziel too.
