But would you want to go OL instead?  The position that has been the most unpredictable and the biggest bust rate among top draft picks?

Yes TEs, you can get good one's later that end up better than the 1st rounders.  But again that happens a Lot with other positions.

Love you threw the OJ Howard in there.  I was all aboard the George Kittle train that year and beatbthe drum thatbwe should've drafted him in the first.  I even mentioned I felt he had betyer upside than Howard.

Remember the crowd who swore Andre Dillard was going to be a perennial pro bowler and we were crazy to draft Burns over Dillard.

Heck this years OL crop was the most highly touted in years.  And while most of the top guys have been studs.  Andrew Thomas who was the top OT out of them has been a total flop

Yes, I’d rather go OL although I do not want a G/C in the 1st either. T is a prime position and I wasn’t high on Thomas and I thought Dillard was Little but a bit more athletic. I wouldn’t have wanted any of them and it’s easy to find busts at any position. I remember the Kittle discussion and liked him as well, but it didn’t happen. Again, he didn’t go in the 1st and none of the top 10 TEs were first rounders last year. There are so many more top TEs (Gronk, Graham, Kielce, Witten, Kittle) outside the 1st. You gave to go back 13 and 23 years to Olsen and Gonzalez getting drafted in the 1st.

I’d rather see if Okung stays healthy and work to keep him and Moton. I haven’t looked at the top Ts but I’d rather go D in the first and then go G/TE in the 2nd/3rd/4th.

If we are just looking for a red zone threat then there are cheaper options. If Pitts isn’t a great blocker then he’s not someone I want in the 1st.

I was just speaking on his catching a bunch of balls last year. Not saying Moss was a good player or good all around TE. Just that Brady will use a TE to catch if the scheme shows he will be open.

He didn’t really catch much at all. Remember that Burrow had almost 6000 yards. That’s less than 10% for the starting TE. That would have been like Olsen averaging 3-400 yards a year.

Moss gets thrown out as an example because he was targeted effectively in the playoffs likely because it was unexpected. It was a good adjustment but it’s likely that those are the only LSU games most people in here watched. He was barely used before that.

If we go TE or MLB in round one I'll be super excited

I have a funny feeling our pick will either be:

Kyle Pitts, TE Florida

Pat Freiermuth TE, Penn St.

Dylan Moses LB, Alabama

or if he's there which he likely won't be

Micah Parsons LB, Penn St.

Let’s not forget that Okung contemplated retirement before the season. He ain’t got long.

Sewell will be long gone by the time we pick but if he somehow is there he is #1 on my board outside of a franchise QB

I agree that both are major needs, but that doesn't mean you have to spend a 1st round pick on them.

If anything those might be two of the easiest positions to find later in the draft.

OT(Okung is getting older), DT(good chance Short will be gone), and CB(can never have too many) are all positions that could warrant 1st round interest.  That is of course if we aren't looking at QBs.

Good but not one of the 2 i was referring.

The 2 I was referring werre Pitts out of Florida and Pat Freiermuth

Jordan is good but in a class behind them.

Freiermuth is a beast. He’d be my selection if we miss out on Parsons, whose also a beast.

Agreed

He was my TE1 going into the season.  And i am interested to see him this year.  Because Pitts for me has passed him for now.  Pitts has looked like the Saints version of Jimmy Graham in the recieving game.  But he is a willing blocker unlike Graham.
