There's been a lot of talk about Joe Brady's use (or non use) of the tight end. The question is whether that's systemic or if it's just because of the personnel we've got.

Not going to bother looking up the stats or anything, but my impression when watching the Saints is that they don't neglect the tight end.

I think it's genuinely possible that the staff knows Thomas is just not the guy. Maybe he can be a good number two, but he doesn't look like a true number one out there.

Yeah, there's too small of a sample size to say Brady doesn't value the TE position. We just have much better other options and Brady wasn't even the signal caller at LSU last year (where they also had much better other options).

There were three or four plays (and possibly more) that really made us look soft yesterday. This was one of them.

Boston hesitating while a receiver caught an easy pass right in front of him was another. Defense giving up big yards on a couple of third and longs wasn't great either.

 a poorly executed QB slide?

Looked like that NFL video I saw of Burrow not sliding right. This wasn’t meant to be a slide. It’s unfortunate that he slipped but he shouldn’t even have been going down to meet the DB. We were at the 25, so it’s one of those you can see the line to gain. If you see that he should have just been diving ahead and going over the DB just to put the ball over the line. That’s just a normal you gotta know where you are and the situation. You aren’t in the middle of the field and already have the first down, just dive.
