I actually think our biggest need is an end to pair with Burns. Burns is special and he’s literally our entire pass rush

YGM will be paired with Burns for the foreseeable future.  Hes just hurt right now.

There are degrees of play, but ultimately it boils down to two classes: good enough or not good enough.

As a guy who rallied to have Tre brought back, because he was better than what we had...  He has been really bad this season.  He's far more noticeable for the plays he doesn't make versus the ones he actually does.

I won't argue for Tre being the long-term solution here. I would like to see him being upgraded in the next year or two, but I certainly wouldn't prioritize FS over some of the bigger issues we have.

Boston is, I think, above average in coverage and mediocre in tackling. You can compensate for the latter by having fewer plays make it past your front seven. Fix the MLB situation, and I think your FS situation improves. And in the meantime, he's not getting beat over the top, and he's not giving away costly PI penalties. I think that's just enough for the remainder of the year, and possibly next year.

In todays pass happy league you need safeties like Tre. Angles and tackling has always been an issue but it’s really being exposed this year due to Whitehead being so bad

If these two positions can be upgraded this offseason, this defense will rank top 10 for many years. I a not even talking superstars at FS and MLB. I am just talking average starters in the NFL. That would be a huge step up. 

Yes those two positions need upgrading but there are other major needs also and two better players alone will not put this group in the top 10 so slow your roll J.

The depth is atrocious on D and not much better than putrid on O. 

They are fighting hard with what they have but let's not get carried away and start crowning their ass already.  It's a long season dude, just enjoy the ride.

The Bears rushed for a total of 28 and 35 yards in their 2 games leading up to the Panther game. The Chicago Bears were a one-dimensional team and, despite knowing they were going to be a pass-oriented offense, the Panthers had nothing yesterday.

No pressure on a quarterback who, when he ran yesterday, I thought I could beat in a foot race.

Oh, I think an upgrade at MLB and FS absolutely puts this group in the top 10. We're currently just outside he top 10 in both yardage (11th) and points allowed (13th).
