TEDDY SUCKS

Is that a statement?  Or a question?

In the real world starting a thread titled "TEDDY SUCKS" (all caps no less)...

...and "pulling for" said person...

...are mutually exclusive.

Possibly in some alternative universe the rules are different.

It originally was not all caps.  I didnt do that.

Aside from that, did you read the initial post?  I wasn't saying this as an infinite descriptor lol...  I titled this thread as such after a game in which he badly missed a wide open receiver in crunch time for what likely would have been a TD with an accurate pass, and then followed that up with a horrible decision and INT, his second of the day, that ended the game.  These are the things the happened.  There is no slant, there is no opinion.  That is what he did today.  The Bears also manned up and forced Teddy to beat them, either with his arm or legs, and he couldn't do either.  He didn't generate any TDs today as our QB who has the ball in his hands every snap.  So, yes, I would say, today he sucked.  Will he suck tomorrow?  Maybe not.  Did he suck last week?  No.  But he did indeed suck today.  That's not a permanent designation in my book, but he did not play well today, and instead of single-handedly winning the game with winning, clutch-time throws, he missed them and lost the game instead.

i wasn't a  giant teddy fan but i'm impressed by him.  i don't think we need a hero qb.  i think we need an upgrade at interior OL , mlb, and safety(s) and we're a hell of a team.   a whole team.    we're missing players who are competent at their jobs, not even good, just competent - on both sides of the ball.

I feel like this is actually the consensus on the huddle for Teddy and the team currently.

Alot of the reactions and responses right now make it seem like everyone hates or is rooting against teddy, and want to tank. I only see people saying what you've said.

Cam wouldn’t be doing anything here. He’d have a worse oline worse defense and worse coaching and a harder schedule than he has now. It isn’t 2015. Signing TB instead of Cam wasn’t a mistake. Lot of reasons this Panther team isn’t good right now, not holding onto Cam isn’t remotely close to being one of them.

It's over and done with, but this is awfully generous to Teddy.  Cam was throwing around 70% in his first year with Norv and was back in MVP talks before his shoulder gave out again.  So he's capable of throwing the passes that Teddy does.  Now, where they are different is, regardless of the line in place, when things break down, Cam has the ability to make plays with his legs, whereas Teddy's ability there is negligible.  I would be willing to bet money that Cam, and several other QBs with a little more physicality or wiggle would've scored on the that goaline 1v1 with Fuller where Teddy didn't.  Multiple plays the Bears GAVE him the chance to beat them with his legs, and he couldn't.  And he didn't do it with his arm either.

Fua, we never had issues until this stuff with Teddy.  I'm not shitting on him, I'm stating the obvious.  Even his most optimistic supporters have acknowledged his style of play is more geared towards getting the ball in playmakers' hands and letting them do the rest.  You're right, the others on offense are being paid to do their jobs, but when your QB lacks the ability to step into those spots and make the plays that the situation calls for himself, the other players whose jobs depend on the QB getting the ball to them can't do their part.  And thus, that is the crux of any and all complaints I've made about Teddy...  he can't take over a game, because he manages them.  His job is to take care of the ball and be anticipatory and accurate with it.  If he turns the ball over, he just failed at his job because he doesn't have the ability to makeup for those miscues like a prime Cam, Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady, or hell, even a Watson.  Those guys make plays on their own that put their teammates in the best position to win.  Teddy needs his supporting cast to put him in a position to win.  That's the difference, and that's all I'm saying.

I won’t argue any of that. I’m definitely not saying he’s Mahomes, Wilson or Rodgers.

When I say he can be a franchise QB (I’m not sure if I’ve used that term specifically before), I mean that I think we can win with him and he’s someone that I could potentially see being here long term.

Yes, that requires playmakers around him, he’s that type of QB. I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with that approach. Teams like the Saints, Rams and even 49ers (last year) won with that approach.

Obviously I would prefer a Mahomes type but those QB’s don’t grow on trees and even then, Mahomes has one hell of a solid team around him. It really is a team game.

I just think when you look at today’s game against Chicago, the offense failed as a whole. That includes Joe Brady. People need to realize that in our new system Teddy is just a piece of the puzzle.

If you think Teddy was any of the biggest problems today dare I say you know absolutely nothing about football.

Don't tell on yourselves.

I wanna know what game you were watching and can you teach me football ? Teddy literally threw a pick 6 and the game sealing pick to end the game tying drive . But nah not a big problem at all .

It did hurt to watch him run, when you so regularly watched cam, or like you said, any there are several running qbs that would have run it there.

I think Teddy has something intangible that we cant see, and can blossom if he can play the way he wants, and doesnt need to run.

But it sucks seeing an easy first down or touchdown that you know Cam could get running backwards.

This is exactly what people who say he isn’t a franchise qb are saying. That if we have the opportunity to draft a blue chip qb we should absolutely do it. Because teddy is what he is. Just a piece to the puzzle. It might be this year or next year or the year after. But I hope this franchise does not hesitate. This just screams of the the Alex smith/Mahomes situation. Alex had them in the playoffs what 3 years in a row? And winning seasons.  If we never get that chance we just continue to draft in other areas and hope for the best.

but I’m taking a talented qb in the draft if it presents itself.

What a great way of saying, " I cant respond reasonably."

Naah, it's just that nothing more need be said, as they say in the legal world the thing speaks for itself.

Just for fun though if you want to provide a few posts from the OP which expressed optimism about and support for Teddy B it might be useful to your position?
