TEDDY SUCKS

to me, and i watched the game sober, teddy threw enough really good balls to win that game.   we missed curtis a lot, and i can't believe i'm saying that, and mike davis is slow.  we had runs he just couldn't make - but they were there.    throw in some dumb penalties and a couple bad calls and you know - we're upper tier mediocre which is pretty awesome all things considered

upper tier mediocre lol, i like it.

I agree, everything we failed at was something i think Curtis and CMC would have fixed. But it is a bit disheartening to know that the QB NEEDS those pieces and cant put the team on his back.

THAT ISNT A KNOCK ON TEDDY BTW.

Id take upper tier mediocre level of play for a season, than poo play by the panthers for a year, and hope we draft so we dont suck in 2 years.

I might be the only person here with this opinion.. I was not a Teddy fan before the season and still haven't fully been convinced he can be more than  a game manager QB..  But some of his days performance answered some questions for me and I was all disappointed in him today...

He showed the long ball with some perfect placement.. Some pocket awareness and escape ability.. Finally the willingness to go down field... Plus he got beat up and kept trying...

I'm not as disappointed in his performance as other are today... The stats for the season aren't great.. But for a player with no off-season on a new team and new scheme.. I didn't think it would be good or great starting the season anyway.. I expected games like this sooner...

no doubt i think if CMC was in there, we would have won. Thats were i do appreciate teddy, i think with those weapons at his hands, he could have won that.

Edit: also, i agree. Tampa bay and Chicago seem absolutely legit after this weekend.  I know Foles is safe and can ride the defense, but could you imagine if those morons in chicago actually picked up cam?

I honestly don’t believe Cam is 100% healthy. I think that Watt hit f*cked his shoulder up in 2018 and it’s just never been the same. It’s a damn shame

And yep, Foles like Teddy is safe. You can win with these types of guys but you need to have all your pieces. Unfortunately for us, today we didn’t. Plus their defense is obviously way ahead of ours. But damn, if we could get another end to pair with Burns... Burns is so damn good and isn’t talked about enough

I think I mirror this sentiment entirely. Im going to be a bit critical on certain things he did that game, because those are the measurable differences you make for a franchise QB.

But he is playing so much better than I anticipated.

Is this the new buzz word on the street??

you know what’s irritating as fug? Coming on to a fan site just to read a bunch of pansy ass girl boys bitching and pooing on the team.

Come on people grow up. We lost a game. The chiefs did too, and Green Bay looked like they got ran over by a Mack truck

The same 5 posters never fail to show up and poo on the team and if expressing that they are the stinky armpit of panther fans is “gate keeping” then call it what you want, but their negative energy isn’t appreciated by everyone.

Chiefs, Packers, Panthers

One of these things is not like the other.

Packers and Chiefs have championships. They get all the leeway they want. When the Panthers have a Lombardi they will get leeway too.

He knew the scheme because it’s sort of what the Saints ran last year.

Chicago has a really good pass rush and we are missing our most important outlet in CMC that would’ve helped offset that rush. Then you take out Samuel who has been Teddy’s reliable 3rd down guy as of late and it showed. Teddy didn’t have that today and it resulted in him needing to run himself which obviously isn’t ideal.

Rodgers looked like garbage today against Tampa. Even the best QB’s are going to struggle against really good defenses. Rodgers against the Niners last year in the NFC Championship, same thing. You can’t just poo on the QB when playing defenses like that. The others on offense are being paid too and they’re expected to make plays and I didn’t see many if anyone make plays on offense today

Fua, we never had issues until this stuff with Teddy.  I'm not shitting on him, I'm stating the obvious.  Even his most optimistic supporters have acknowledged his style of play is more geared towards getting the ball in playmakers' hands and letting them do the rest.  You're right, the others on offense are being paid to do their jobs, but when your QB lacks the ability to step into those spots and make the plays that the situation calls for himself, the other players whose jobs depend on the QB getting the ball to them can't do their part.  And thus, that is the crux of any and all complaints I've made about Teddy...  he can't take over a game, because he manages them.  His job is to take care of the ball and be anticipatory and accurate with it.  If he turns the ball over, he just failed at his job because he doesn't have the ability to makeup for those miscues like a prime Cam, Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady, or hell, even a Watson.  Those guys make plays on their own that put their teammates in the best position to win.  Teddy needs his supporting cast to put him in a position to win.  That's the difference, and that's all I'm saying.

i wasn't a  giant teddy fan but i'm impressed by him.  i don't think we need a hero qb.  i think we need an upgrade at interior OL , mlb, and safety(s) and we're a hell of a team.   a whole team.    we're missing players who are competent at their jobs, not even good, just competent - on both sides of the ball.

ALSO we need a fuging Tight end. Id bet anyone here, that a decent defending tight end would fix alot of poo.

From the outside looking in, we absolutely need one.  But, I'm just not sure how prioritized they are in this scheme, so I don't know if it's the current talent level that's dictating their lack of usage, or if it's the offense itself that doesn't utilize then much as receivers.

No he isnt?

You have any proof he said anything like that, or you just believe it because you were told that there is an army of anti teddys here?

Nobody wants teddy to fail, other than the tank for trevor folks. Everyone else can criticize his play if it isnt good.

Is that a statement?  Or a question?

In the real world starting a thread titled "TEDDY SUCKS" (all caps no less)...

...and "pulling for" said person...

...are mutually exclusive.

Possibly in some alternative universe the rules are different.

He doesn’t suck but he isn’t Cam Newton. Carolina got rid of Cameron Jerrell Newton to sign a game manager.

Cam wouldn’t be doing anything here. He’d have a worse oline worse defense and worse coaching and a harder schedule than he has now. It isn’t 2015. Signing TB instead of Cam wasn’t a mistake. Lot of reasons this Panther team isn’t good right now, not holding onto Cam isn’t remotely close to being one of them.

He might know it but no Michael Thomas, Kamara, or TE Cook makes a big difference... And clearly Brady isn't the play caller yet that Payton is...

Again I'm not here to debate I'm still not fully convinced that Teddy isn't still a game manager.. I just wasn't very disappointed in his performance today and actually saw some things I didn't think he could do... A few passes today were the  big arm laser type passes... And his placement on some of those deep passes were perfect... The fact he went for some deep passes was something I didn't think he could do...

But he still has A lot to prove to be considered a Franchise QB in my opinion...
