Stat Correction: Teddy Most Accurate

That’s what smart coaching does. They adapt. If your QB can’t hit deep you focus short. If your QB struggles from 7-10 you throw shorter or further. You don’t force your QB to do things they aren’t good at. That isn’t a knock on Teddy. It’s smart coaching.

But these coaches chose Bridgewater to be their Qb, they actively seeked his services in free agency market. Seems like their was no adaptation at all, but this is the system that they wanted to run.

They did seek his service. They could have been leaning towards a certain offense pending if they had to draft or sign a QB. Since they got Teddy they go with B instead of C. I trust Joe Brady.

I mean, to be fair, and I say this as someone who hates the Saints... they haven't exactly had the best of luck in the playoffs lately.  I think they woulda beat the Pats in 2018.  Eagles game woulda been tough in 2017, but the Saints matched up well.

Yep they get fuged in playoffs. But that’s because they put the refs on alert with how dirty they play. Every single year. Hell even this year I think they have the most penalties. The Saints will literally lose a game trying to get away with penalties, then wonder why they get fuged with bad calls lol.

Teddy's only problem is we dont have a red zone target to throw to.  If we had a player similar to Olsen his numbers would look even better

Execution in the redzone is more important as there is less ground the defense has to cover.

We have big targets available for redzone plays, just need better, more consistent execution in the redzone.

Need Ian Thomas to step up there. Robbie should be a target there as well. Save the underneath stuff for DJ and Davis.

5.3 compared to last year’s Super Bowl MVP’s 5.7 both way under Mitch Trib’s 6.9.  Looks like a pretty useless stat to me...

It is a useless stat.

What's important for a QB

1) Completing passes (or scrambling) that keep the chains moving

2) Limitting turnovers

3) Throwing TD passes

He’s 28th in the NFL in air yards per completion. He dumps off passes and keeps them typically to within five yards of the line of scrimmage. When you have receivers who can run you can do that.

My God man, seriously WTF is up with trolling Teddy? He’s 6th in total passing yds, tops in competition percentage and top 10 QBR. Yes, hitting your checkdown guy raises your completion percentage, but if you can get 5 yds why wouldn’t you take it?

And it's not really a check down if the play is designed that way.

Teddy isn't perfect (but IDK the QB that is), but he is accurate. That can't be downplayed. Teddy also largely takes what the defense gives him and is becoming more and more efficient with each passing week (pun kinda intended). He's not checking it down because he can't throw deep, he's getting the ball quicker to his receiver than we've become accustomed to--and accurately--because that's what allows the reciever to maximize yards after the catch, or simply move the chains. This shouldn't be downplayed, or turned into something it's not. Teddy doesn't have the strongest arm, but it's not exactly a noodle arm either. There is a method to out madness, and it relies on accuracy, putting your skill players in the best situations to succeed, and methodically moving the ball down the field, taking the path of least resistance.

He's like Pac-Man out there, but even Pac-Man's gonna hit that bonus when the circumstances allow it.
