Two panthers on Amazing Race

You know what? I don't hate DeAngelo Williams. He was an excellent running back during his time here and was pretty much a model Panther up until the death of his Mom, someone who had been very dear to him. It was DeAngelo and his Mom that are directly responsible for the NFL's Breast Cancer Awareness activities, and that's a really big deal.

None of us know what happened, but apparently Williams felt like the organization treated him poorly when his mom died. I don't know what happened, what was said, what didn't happen or wasn't said, and neither does anyone else that wasn't directly involved in the situation. I do know that grief can make people say the wrong things or take things the wrong way or just make them terribly vulnerable to even the slightest of slights. Or perhaps David Gettleman was all "bup, bup, bup" about the whole thing and just broke the guy's heart.

Either way, I still don't think he deserves the hate the guy gets on this board. Honestly, I like the guy and he had some great games here. He and Stew and Barnidge were quite the trio outside of the games, too and a lot of fun. Good luck to him and Gary in the Amazing Race.

As a player, he was one of the most enjoyable players to watch in Panthers history during his prime. Heard plenty of rumors about him not being liked by the players. Then I saw him making the TV rounds, and finally saw him on Good Morning Football and I get it. He was probably a giant asshole.

The most cringy 5 minutes of my life. I now hate this man. You can't fug with Peter and Kyle. Lost all respect for him. Wish I hadn't seen that.

They gave Olsen the private plane treatment when one of his children were sick. Deangelo mother passed and they did nothing . I would be pissed too .

Focus on your race DeAngelo.  A two year old needing open heart surgery is more of a big deal then a players mother dying.  Both situations suck but they aren't equal.

Eh. The same could be said for Kelvin Benjamin but I don't see anyone coming to his defense. Deangelo chose to distance himself from the organization and got his wish.

Kelvin had one good season with the Panthers and wasn't much of a presence publicly during his time here. DeAngelo was a major player for multiple years here and was one of the main team ambassadors -- he always worked hard for the charitable events and public relations efforts of the team, plus his bringing Breast Cancer Awareness efforts into the whole league was something any player would be proud to hang their hat on.

Yeah, there was a bad break-up, but it's just petty to not be able to look back and see that there were some very good times here for him.

One time Deangelo Williams was on NFL network and he was defending James Harrison.

He put up an info graphic of two players stats, player A and player B. He asked the other hosts if these players should be in the HOF based on their stats. Everyone said yes.

Player A was JJ. Player B was Harrison. Except JJ had much better stats in half as many seasons so they were all like "yeah Harrison should be HOF, but you really did a horrible job at proving your point."

Sorry about your mom.  Was not sure if you were being sarcastic or real?  Susan g is a rip off?

I always thought that was Deangelo's chief success was raising money/awareness.

Big time. one of the worst with funds actually going to research.

Did not know that, wow.

And now they have a new cancer fund raising, Crucial Catch.  I should probably research where that money is going before buying this.  I thought it looked sharp.  Out of stock everywhere.

their slogan should be: bitch we don't help anyone, we "spread awareness" and pocket that sweet sweet cash.

they literally tell people 'breast cancer y'all'.  that's their schtick
