What is Jeremy Chinn

He is the defensive version of McCaffrey. They are both incredible athletes gifted with strength speed, brains and a fire to compete. He has even exceeded my expectations. I knew he was athletic and fast but the ease at which he went from lower level college ball to the pros is frankly surprising. I guess it helps to have college coaches who are making the same transition who can distil the essence down to the basic concepts.

It also helps to have NFL bloodlines - he’s the nephew of Broncos’ HOF safety Steve Atwater.

Chinn is going to be a great on his own steam. I’m hoping we can draft or sign a legitimate MLB in the offseason so we can maximize his abilities as a SS in the secondary.

I watched Clemson film and saw the lack of physicality---I dismissed it as an issue because he rarely missed tackles.  However, it bothered me.

After KB it's a huge red flag when a guy is that big but can't use it to his advantage. Playing on defense as a LB even more so. We are lucky we ended up with Chinn, he appears to be the full package.

See Shaq Thompson and Kwan Short

IMO Shaq T is a good player - his speed and versatility are better suited for WLB. He’s not a great player but he’s not being used to the best of his abilities e.g. coverage and blitzing. The problem is we don’t have a bonafide MLB and Whitehead is a liability.

Unfortunately, injuries appear to have caught up with KK and that’s really too bad because he is menace on the DL when healthy and could’ve done a lot to help Brown’s development. Looks like DL will be another area of focus in the offseason.

Jeremy Chinn = Good Football Player, we need more good football players. Its not a position-less thing as that gets used on guys that can't check any box, whereas Chinn checks multiple. He is what you see often in high school and occasionally in college but rarely in the NFL, and we are very lucky to have someone like him. If we had three of him on D we would be the nastiest D ever. Here's to his development as he will only get better with experience.

He's what Isaiah Simmons was hyped to be.

I hoped Chinn would basically be a poor man's Simmons. Turns out, Cardinals fans are now hoping that Simmons will get his act together and be a poor man's Jeremy Chinn.

Not sure about that one... in college simmons was billed to also be able to get to the quarterback. We have yet to really see that develope in either of them at the pro level. But as far as coverage and tackles goes Chinn is superior for sure.

To be completely fair, we have yet to see much of anything develop at the pro level with Simmons.

Agreed... I am acknowledging Chinn looks far superior... but the promise on Simmons was he was a do it all positionless player and you see him getting after the quarterback more than anything. What I'm saying is neither of them are exactly what that dream was. But Chinn is closer to the orginal idea.

Could Chinn rush the passer? I dont know its where he has the least snaps... and no I'm not trying to bash Chinn just adding to the context.
