Any trade targets out there at DT?  Obada hasn’t been that bad when lining up there, but we need depth big time.

Hate it for Kawaan.  This has been my fear.  Brown is going to get use to double teams.

I don't want to sacrifice too much for the future, but I'm also not opposed to trying to trade for another DT either.

Hopefully Burns and YGM will be back soon.

Think Obada is going to be used more inside

Yep. He hurt his shoulder last year. Over 30 missing most of a season and what do we do? Pay him another $13M for 6 tackles, no TFLs, no sacks and not even a QB hit.

What do all the Short supporters think now? I was pro-release all day long and got a ton of push back. I wanted a full rebuild and that wasn’t in the cards so I’m happy with the results, but this was just wasted money. All the people complaining about CMC’s deal and here’s 1 year of the 3 year $39M easily ending part of CMC’s contract that we just lit on fire for no reason.

this is a huge blow. he wasn't playing great but he was a difference-maker when he was on the field.

teams are gonna run hard at that interior D if we don't make a move.

Not really. He was easily released to save $13M this year and $13.5M next year. Marty not only restructured the deal, he kept him one (or two) years too long by doing that. Heck, we may keep him next year too, SMH. It was structured as a 3 year deal (got two solid years and 1 injury) and we restructured it into a 4-5 year deal.

He was doing OK but he wasn’t a difference maker. No TFLs or sacks/QB hits.

Yep. When KK was in, he saw most of the double teams. Now that is gonna get shifted back to Brown. 

We need the other DT's to step up here, otherwise it is going to be pretty dicey inside.

Go look at the game film and you will see the difference. Same as Brown, it doesn't always show on the stat sheet.

Should probably consider retirement at this point. He’s had a lot of surgeries. Made his money and just isn’t the same player anymore. No point in continuing

What does that have to do with you calling him a difference maker? He was a waste of money and clearly wasn’t a difference maker. He clearly was at a high risk of re-injury and maybe he was better than a 6th round rookie and an UDFA, but that’s not what you were saying.
