Might sound crazy, but when CMC comes back he needs to be used like any other player...not a centerpiece or focal point.

So we should use probably one of the most dynamic players in the league as a regular player?  smh...

I’ve always felt CMC’s role in the passing game should be slightly minimized.

i don't know if you'd consider this minimized to what he's been, but I've always seen CMC to be this generations' Marshall Faulk, as a true 50/50 killer.

Mike Davis role these pass few weeks hasn't been any different than how we would have used Mccaffrey.

Davis caught nine passes against the Falcons, that's the same way we use Mccaffrey. This offense in particular if you watched LSU last season has a big emphasis on using the Rb in the passing game.

Mccaffrey's a big weapon in the passing game you don't want to minimize that. But he does need less reps, wear and tear, we have Mike Davis who can spell him and this offense will continue clicking.

That can be said about any team with a star player.

Pretty much.

You know they're going to get the ball, but you still have to stop them. Heck, in 2019, even with Ron Rivera and his staff running the show he still did the 1000/1000 thing.

We as a team are playing better because the defense has given up aveage 17.6 points respectively the last 3 games.   First 2 games we averaged 32.5 points per game.

Yep and those were the first two games of those entire staff. Offense averaged 23.5 ppg with CMC and 25 ppg without him. Seeing as how the entire team played better the last three games (no sacks last two, +5 turnovers instead of -2), all this talk of CMC being a weight pulling us down is ridiculous. Maybe you don’t like the contract but man, acting like CMC is bad for us is ignoring the overwhelming evidence that this is in fact a team sport and amazingly the entire team has picked it up. Shocking with such a new staff that we would improve our play calling and gel a bit after no preseason games.

Minimized is laughable. Let’s minimize CMC in the passing game. Davis has 22 receptions in 3 starts when we’ve been winning most of the games. He had 8 in that last quarter while losing to TB. He’s on pace in 3.25 games to have around 140 receptions.

Yeah, CMC should be minimized when he starts and gets back healthy because we have sure stopped throwing to our lead RB even with the lead instead of coming from behind. SMH.

CMC is the undisputed best player at his position on this football team.

that said, mike davis has given this team reason to split carries. if mike davis is in the backfield and christian mccaffrey is flexing out as a receiver it's not longer automatically a passing read.

thank based christ we don't have shula as an offensive coordinator because joe brady is a guy who's smart enough to capitalize on this.

For a change I agree with this entire post, The threat of it still being a run with CMC lining up in the slot and not solely a decoy just further opens up the offense as long as you don't force feed him, It opens up chances to get him free and in space for big plays off play action too.
