The first image isn’t accurate, the ball is in the air, look at the safety and linebacker closest to DJ they are sprinting away from DJ.  That ball is in flight.

The first still is the play in which Teddy made his tightest window throw

You could play this game for every QB in the league every week. Cam forced a pick to Edelman a couple weeks ago when they had another player wide open downfield. On 4th down against the Bears, Brady had a player wide open underneath who would've gotten the 1st down and extended the game easily and he forced a throw downfield.

No QB, even the greatest, is perfect and makes the perfect read on every play. This lack of Moore connection is 100% something to emphasize and for Teddy to work on, but it's hardly a reason to think he sucks or anything like that.

As I’ve said before, Teddy rarely looks DJ’s way in comparison to Robby and even Samuel now. Some of it is because Teddy’s got a great rapport with Robby from practicing together over the summer in Florida. And Robby makes plays.

But by now, he needs to look DJ’s way with more frequency. We have enough speed and open guys that if Robby’s covered, DJ’s probably a good option.

teddy has a stylistic approach that mirrors the coaching staff and their vision for an offense that moves methodically as opposed to shot taking. the second screen is useful but the first one is not in my opinion. he was pretty clearly locked in on that bunch of three targets in the middle of the field to see who was going to win. another thing is that if you look at all the other targets teddy throws to with any frequency, they're all in the 75% or above target to catch rate and DJ sits at 59% which is down from 64% last year and 67% the year prior. people have talked about it but teddy throws a very catchable ball. DJ is a really good WR, but a few things about his game need work. I think he has to learn when to go to the ground on low throws instead of trying to pick it off the turf. Just secure the catch and get to the ground. I would also like to see him be more competitive in his routes with hand fighting and beating the press off the line. for a guy steve smith endorsed, he doesn't really seem to have that dog in him. i think that's why he's not even considered an option in goal to go situations. he has only 7 touchdowns in 35 career games and the majority of those feel like they were big plays. he just sort of gives off a passive vibe. would love to see him get to jawing with the defensive backs and showing that confidence in his ability. i think he needs to be more assertive about getting his looks. if he's going to be our main guy he has to start wanting these moments. in fairness to teddy, DJ hasn't given him a lot to be excited about prior to last game. he starts turning some of these plays upfield he's going to get his attention fast.

In fairness to DJ, he had 8 catches for 120 yards in week 2 and has led the team in yards per catch even before last week.

There are things that you can criticize Teddy about but this is really petty. He isn't going to make every single perfect read on every single play. No QB does that.

This is not a thread criticizing Teddy, this a thread about our most explosive weapon needing more touches
