Panther's O-Line hasn't allowed a sack in back-to-back games.

You can't take the quarterback's release out of the equation for sacks and pressures any more than you can take the reliability of a receiver's hands out of the equation for completion percentage.

This is one of the reasons why I don't like judging by stats. There are way too many statistics in football that are affected by more than one player or unit, but they're used to measure single players and units anyway.

It's just not a good way to analyze.

If the Panthers were still routinely having their QB holding out for the long ball, TB would be getting killed right now, just like CN and KA were before him.

Bottom Line:  The Panthers O line is no longer being asked to do things they are not capable of delivering on.

That's what infuriated me about Shula and Norv for so long. They asked so much more than the linemen were capable of doing the plays were doomed from the start. It's like we spent years living in the dark and someone just turned on the light bulb.

A lot of people don't want to admit it but Cam has never had the best pocket presence/awareness. Some of those sacks were at least partly on him. Of course he avoided others with his mobility/tackle breaking (though that seemed to diminish quite a bit since his first 4 years or so), so it may have evened out, but Teddy has that ability as well and has pretty damn good pocket presence/awareness.

100% agree and I enjoyed Cam. The most frustrating thing was seeing him go backwards only to end up being sacked. The OL wasn’t good every year and Shula’s deep drops and deep routes weren’t great, but the thought that he could make a play out of anything got him caught so many times and killed drives because they were typically 8-11+ yard losses. Yes, I know him escaping led to some amazing plays but more ended up in large losses.
