Panther's O-Line hasn't allowed a sack in back-to-back games.

We should probably recognize this because we've been on the other end of it.

Back when our defense was heavily focused on pass rush (basically all of the Rivera years) we'd go into Saints games thinking that we were going to knock Drew Brees around.

But while we did get to him sometimes, it frequently wasn't often enough. And that was true even before the Saints built up their offensive line to where it is now.

Why? Because the football was gone.

And now that's us.

(being on this side of the equation is more fun)

A lot of people don't want to admit it but Cam has never had the best pocket presence/awareness. Some of those sacks were at least partly on him. Of course he avoided others with his mobility/tackle breaking (though that seemed to diminish quite a bit since his first 4 years or so), so it may have evened out, but Teddy has that ability as well and has pretty damn good pocket presence/awareness.

I think it wasn't so much pocket awareness so much as a feeling that Superman could always handle the situation. Hubris, maybe. Cam has/had skills and abilities that made him nearly invulnerable/uncatchable in the pocket. Nearly is the important word there, because when someone broke through that shell Cam would often keep fighting to break free, actually making the situation worse, whether it be more lost yards in a sack or just a bad throw away.

Can't truly fault Cam for that as he won that gamble far more often than he lost it. It's just that when he lost it, it was always big. His immense capabilities were a blessing with a built in curse.

People are under-estimating what Reed and Miller are doing at G--they are doing very well.  I am not sure if Daley is better or not, but I would like to see them groom him to play LT better because he is closer to being ready for the job than Little (who gave up zero pressures, zero sacks on Sunday in limited play)

I meant he was limited to 1 play.

This team needs a C, but the fact that he is not as exposed this year is probably due to the Guards.

My needs, as I see them:

MLB---you want to know what is wrong with our run defense?  Watch Pimple for a game.

LT--As much as I want to see Okung get another deal, he not guaranteed and getting old.  Little has been terrible.  Nothing much left in the garage.  A good LT would help solve a lot of problems.

S--y'all can sing Boston's praises all you want, but count the yards after whiff he gives up a game.  He makes everyone else better?  No, he makes them look better.  A leader makes plays.  He is a cheerleader.

CB-- In traction Jackson would get hurt if he was the holder for extra points.  Douglas is OK, and Pride is decent right now, but a true stud to lock up with the true stud WRs in this conference would be a good thing.

C--A guy that does not need help vs. the nose.

TE--a threat in the passing game and a blocker in the run game.

Financially, we should be in good shape moving into 2021.  I see us adding a few free agents

Center & MLB are MUSTS in the next draft/F/A. Not stop gaps either we need franchise players. Kalil & Kuechly were huge reasons for our super bowl run.

Cam isn’t exactly getting beat up in NE either. Maybe the Panthers just had a bad product.

Another testament to good coaching. Cam certainly had his flaws but the lack of competence in coaching and development from the previous regime didn’t help.

Newton is running an E-P up in New England. I've speculated plenty of times before that I thought that'd be an ideal offense for him, even more so than a Coryell.

On the flipside, what we're running here is what I've long said would be the worst fit for Newton's skill set. Outside of being mobile, Newton was a poor fit for a WCO. Teddy Bridgewater, however, suits it just fine.

At least for now, this looks like one of those situations where splitting up might turn out to have been the best thing for both parties.

The offensive line when healthy is one of the best we've fielded.

The two Tackles Okung and Moton I can't think of a better tackle duo for the Panthers in a long, long time.

Miller has quietly been a beast especially in the run game. Paradis has been ok. And every since Reed has stepped into the lineup they have been solid across the board.
