'72? Heck, I was in high school playing football in '72. Started watching football sometime around '67 or "68. Can't remember if that was before or after we got our first color TV.

See above :)

I saw that game happen on a tiny black and white TV set at my grandma's house.

Didn't start playing till a few years later when I was eight.

Yay!  Another old person!  We used to go to my grandparent's house because they had a color tv.

I'm guessing you're older than me then.

I was 5 years old when I saw that game. Definitely didn't know what a bookie was.

A friend of mine did introduce me to parlay cards a few years later.

LOL, you are about 10 years younger than I am.

Marlin Perkins sitting back in his comfy office while Jim Fowler got his ass chewed by an alligator :)

Fowler was out there years before Steve Irwin came along.

How did you live...

Easy! We played outside a lot! For me, any type of ball was pretty much mandatory. We went inside before dark, ate as a family at the dinner table. Watched TV shows as a family. Played board games, talked on the phone, listened to the radio, and all that good stuff. When tape recorders came out, I was captivated. I used to tape music by sticking the recorder in front of the speaker. When boomboxes came out, I was in heaven. When Atari 2600 came out, we played it (don't get me wrong), but it couldn't beat out playing ball.

Whiffle ball, stick ball, football, street hockey....no video games at all. I remember what a big deal it was when the first ping pong game came out.

Baseball, football basketball bike riding, sled riding, and of course trying to duplicate Evel Knievel's stunts...

Guys like us predate Microsoft, Google, Atari, the internet, giant flat screen TVs, and GPS was a paper map :)
