Is it time to start thinking trade?

Well now I’m hoping your friend also googled and saw my post and is using it as his source. I would love to be the source of a completely unfounded trade rumor lol

No, just talked to him and he is getting rumors from philly radio guy on twitter....  so, not legit... atm.

I do buy the eagles are shopping him though.

This ain’t on Ertz, he gets knocked off balance and can’t recover in time. I’m reading a few saying that Wentz has been most inaccurate when targeting Ertz.

But yeah, I’ve also seen how he wants an extension even though he’s still under contract for next year. He’s already 30... I wouldn’t be in favor of extending him that’s for sure

you think so?  that was barely even a chip.  If Ertz knew where to be he wouldn't turn around and sit like that.

There are a lot more instances.  But Ertz has been a beast in years past and if we can pick him up for a late, late round pick, the change could do him well.  No rule you have to renegotiate his current contract, let him prove his 2021 market worth.

I’m not opposed to making a trade. A smart one. Anytime you’re in a position to make a playoff push I’m not totally against going for it. Things can change so quickly in the NFL due to injuries and etc.

I mean, look at the Niners this year. Most predicted them to be right back in the thick of things and for good reason but the injury bug has hit them real hard. You just never know...

Sunday’s game is a big one in terms of making a push or not. Who knows how long Joe Brady will be around.

I doubt the team can win the whole thing with only a few additions. Do people care about divisional and conference trophies?

If teams want to offload or if they undervalue players at position of need, then maybe lower picks. But I rather not. Not to win now, because it won't work. I would be ok if they secured the tackle positions, but if we can keep Okung and Moton that is not a need.

Remember folks, there is a good chance that the cap will not increase, and could decrease next season. How that affects trades this year is TBD. Teams could trade just for contract relief if players renegotiate, it could be a very strange trade season this year.

DT depth is the biggest issue to me. Run defense is still pretty bad. Short is more of an injury prone veteran mentor to Brown than a full time starter at this point. Bravvion Roy was getting pushed off the ball almost every play last game. Woodrow Hamilton might need to get some more opportunities. If we were to make a trade and there’s a solid DT available, I think that’s a big spot for improvement.

Just going to go ahead and quote myself in light of Short’s injury

General rule of thumb is that big guys if they are worth a damn aren’t available for trade. When teams get one that’s even decent they hold on for dear life because there aren’t that many 300 lbs men that can move around.

I’d love to be wrong but anyone we find at this point we either have to give up a lot for or they are mostly just a body.
